It has gripped an ever-growing army of fans across the world with its epic battle scenes, racy plots and, of course, dragons since first gracing our screens in 2011.
And as the final season of Game Of Thrones premieres next week, more viewers than ever are set to tune in, eager to find out the latest twists and turns in the fight for the coveted Iron Throne.
More than one billion viewers in 170 different countries are expected to watch each episode in the final season - which kicks off on April 15.

“”early on, the show would stage “battles”... In later seasons, they have had the money to use every special effects trick in the book.”
In this final season, they will have the longest battle sequence in television history.
“I would like to check it out.”
In Amazon Prime, you can activate a subscription to the HBO channel, and binge watch all previous episodes anytime you want, as well as watch the new episodes as they are released.
After two months, when the final season ends, you can cancel the HBO subscription.
Tried watching one a couple years ago. Yuck.
“sad to see it ending this year.”
A spin off series is about to start filming - might be ready to air next year. It is set 6,000 years earlier, and apparently will cover the first war with the white walkers. It is tentatively entitled “The Long Night”.
“I wish GRRM would finish the books but at this rate hell die first.”
Watch out! He said that every time he is criticized for possibly dying before finishing, he will kill off another Stark.
You and my hubby. He has finally come to the same conclusion, GRRM will die before finishing The Winds of Winter.
We have thoroughly enjoyed this series. We read the books first and were excited from the beginning. We went thru all the previous seasons last year and this week we are going through last season, one per night.
Fortunately, I’ve found a lot of other authors out there that I love in the absence of GRRM, with Brandon Sanderson being my favorite (also much “cleaner” for those that care). I probably have 125 fantasy books I own at this point.
IMO, the show has improved since the nudity and has been scaled back.
and the homo has been scaled back.
should I start watching now, or see the good stuff online?
...yet they take the time to post on every TV/Book/Movie thread to enlighten us all with their disdain. And if you point that out, they whimper that it's a free site and they can post what they want.
They are just idiots who need attention.
Anyhoo, I am going on a long overseas vacation soon so I hope to miss the spoilers of casual cubicle conversation so I can get back and binge watch the final season!
Neither, just stating a fact. Maybe when it's finally over I can start with the seasons Mrs Rllngrk33 has on DVD.
I don’t always follow the crowd. It’s been my experience that most TV shows go stale after three to five seasons. I don’t have HBO, so maybe I’ll watch the seasons the wife has on DVD when it’s finally over.
In order to read the books, I had to note the chapters for each character in each book, then read those chapters consecutively until I got too far ahead the arcs of the other characters.
This made the read more coherent and pleasant.
I'm not a fan of the current "disjoint" method of shuttling from character to character every other chapter.
LOL!
Screw that lazy old gasbag. ;-)
Except those with Dish Network. They have removed HBO over money.
LOL! They're all here trying to out virtue signal one another! It's comical.
GoT is one of the greatest television series ever and HBO has raised the bar as to what viewers can expect to be delivered via streaming to their massive 4K home theaters.
I'm currently rewatching the series. There's so much I missed the first time. One of the joys of streaming is that the show's creators can hide a bunch of "Easter eggs" that are found on repeated viewings.
SOUPY!!! SOUPY!!!
Some people have a very low standard of what counts for entertainment.
There is no shark to jump in this series.
