Accomplice poachers told the victim's family that he had been killed by an elephant on Tuesday.
...A search party struggled to find the body but eventually found a human skull and a pair of trousers on Thursday.

A few years ago we did a safari to several game parks in Kenya.Our guide,James (who was outstanding!),told us that the Kenyan government's policy regarding poachers is "shoot on sight"...no negotiating,no handcuffs...just hot lead.
That's OK with me....and completely understandable given how important tourism is to the Kenyan economy.
