Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron said she’s “shockingly available” and would like somebody to “step up” and date her.

Theron, 43, opened up about her dating life to “Entertainment Tonight” while promoting her latest film “Long Shot” with co-star Seth Rogen.

"I've been single for 10 years, it's not a long shot,” Theron said of “someone courting her.” “Somebody just needs to grow a pair and step up. I'm shockingly available."

Rogen added, “She’s out there!”

“I’ve made it very clear,” Theron replied.

Its like the dark side of people Magazine—and it is a complete “chick” gossip site. But some of it is eye opening.

What is more eye opening is when I started reading it, I had no idea who most of these people were.

Her problem is that nobody with the kind of money and status she demands, has any interest in dating her 43 year old, used up self. There may be “common” men who would date her, but that’s not good enough.

Yeah, I think most of us are on the same page here. A true life partner does the non-glamourous things. Sure, sex is part of it, but there are other parts. Having and raising kids. Looking after each other when one of you is sick. Making it through tough financial times. Sitting in a waiting room while your child is having surgery. Caring for, and eventually burying your parents.

I don't know this woman. Never seen any of her movies. She seems reasonably attractive, but I occasionally do business on a college campus with 10,000 students, and there are several hundred women there every bit as physically attractive as the Hollywood "goddesses," and that's BEFORE having makeup artists, photographers and fashion designers prepare them for viewing.

It's probably more difficult for famous people for several reasons, but mostly because everyone they meet wants the fantasy image they're selling, not the person, and some want to be able to brag that they "nailed" some celebrity. Believe it or not, the girls from "Facts of Life" said that was a problem for them for years after the show ended, and none of them were ever particularly attractive.

TL;DR version: apparently, all she's got to offer is her star power and her sexuality. Sure, there are guys that would shaft a snake in a sandstorm and move on down the road, but if she wants a relationship, she has to offer something else, cause at 43, sorry, but you're over the hill sexually. After age thirty, the chance of getting pregnant decreases until it's rare by age forty, and by age forty, the risk of birth defects increases dramatically.

So, what does she want? Someone to go to a Sandals Resort every couple of months?

Its not a question of your friend's value as a person. But the reality is men as a general rule very much favor younger women. Look at the odds of a woman marrying once she hits 30. Look again at 35. The numbers tell the story. Congrats to your friend if she was fortunate enough to beat the odds.

I lost contact with her when I moved cross-country. However, what has occurred among my friends and associates doesn’t reflect your numbers. Three women have married men 15 years their junior; those marriages are still going. Three others married well into their 40’s and 50’s. They’re still fine, too. I knew some women who desperately wanted to remarry but didn’t (one was a blatant freeloader, so that was no surprise). What I see is that men verbalize one thing but, when the rubber hits the road, some of them behave quite differently. Perhaps there was some peculiarity about my circle of friends, but they weren’t in any sort of legal trouble and circulated in society without problems.
