There’s only been ones that focus on the bad guys, not on the heroes that took them down.
Mostly fascinated how both these men have aged.
Their off stage personalities fit the roles well.
Law and order but under what order can ex-Texas Rangers kill criminals in Louisiana?
NETFLIX is the next (now?) Hollywood.
we greatly enjoyed this movie. the parts i already knew about were historically accurate, but i can’t speak to the other parts.
THE best aspect of this movie is that it does NOT glorify the B&C killers, but shows that they were nothing but a pair of sociopathic scum bent on cold-blooded murder of a bunch of innocent folks ....
The ambush in highwaymen was filmed at that exact actual death site. Hey had to cover the road in red dirt because it’s paved now.
Sounds interesting. I loved the 60’s Arthur Penn classic, but B&C were just cheap killers in real life.
Open Range is one of my three favorite westerns of all time, along with Outlaw Josey Wales and Tombstone. In no particular order.
Wasn’t the whole landscape of the area changed by a road project?
They did a amazing job on La 154, my jaw hit the floor.
Rule 303.
Thanks, my daughter recommended it, and loved it a year or so ago. Haven’t had time to watch it again, thought the second time would be kind of fun seeing what clues I missed, but wouldn’t watch it a third time. One of the ultimate Christian post-apocalyptic stories.
On the literary side, ever heard of
Full Circle by Bruce Ariss
The Outrider series by Richard Harding
The Ashes series by William Johnston
My grandfather worked with Clyde Barrow in the oilfields in Oklahoma. Obviously, pre-bank robbing spree. Said he never would have suspected it was the same guyjust another roughneck trying to make a living in desperate times.
Probably the most relevant part to their story is how the press callously marketed their exploits against the public interest. Some things never change.
A film with a happy ending.
But I think in this new phase of his career he’s doing some good stuff
I recall they had the Bonnie and Clyde car at the circus or state fair one time. had to pay extra to get inside that tent. Pretty cool. Although even at the time as a child, I wondered if they didn’t just take any old car and shoot it full of holes and pour some animal blood all over the place.
Saw it over the weekend. I’d rate it a couple of notches above mediocre, but not great. Woody H. ruins just about any movie for me because of what a liberal greaseball he is.
But I’d watch it again. I did think the machinegunning of B&C at the end was waaay overdone, meant to cast the police in a bad light, typical of today’s directors. I mean, c’mon, in the movie, they must’ve poured a thousand rounds into that car! Don’t really know how that squares with reality. Maybe it does. Just seemed a bit much to me.
“Some things never change.”
20,000 came to Bonnie’s funeral.
15,000 came to Clyde’s funeral.
As you said, “Some things never change.”
Heh. I think I saw the same thing at a fair in Amarillo. But there no blood to be seen.
“I swear that channel is programmed for 16 year old girls with cramps.”
Agreed. About 7 years ago that’s all we watched. Now Netflix is a once in a while thing due to softer programming.
