Can we please stop with the upstart football leagues?
Not really surprised.
Typically, only one game per week is on my cable tier, and it is teams I have near-zero interest in.
Some games can be found online, but it takes some dedication to search them out.
The few games I have watched has very low attendance.
I also find it rather silly to omit kick-offs and PATs, leaving the only ‘kick’ on 4th downs.
Why invest in a sport dying from brain injuries? Football is on borrowed time.
It seems like Orlando and San Antonio were the only cities that supported their teams. Hard to make a league work that way.
What the NFL doesn’t admit is that there are no further viable markets for NFL franchises other than non-U.S. cities like London, Toronto and Mexico City. They’ve tapped out the United States.
I think it is very possible the NFL will next try to expand to London and Mexico City. Toronto would be viable but it would probably kill the CFL if they did it.
This is a real bummer. I have watched several of the AAF games since their season started and the games were pretty decent. It certainly helped this football junkie’s withdrawal symptoms that normally start just after the Super Bowl.
I jokingly call that time period from the Super Bowl to the start of baseball season “the dark time”. Thanks for getting me through it, AAF. Needless to say, I am not a basketball fan. At least baseball season has started. I have that and the PGA to satisfy my needs.
