They finally caved to pressure from UK government. After just making recent statements that he's not infringed on their terms of use, he gets banned. People get banned from FB for mentioning his name...they're trying to erase him. They're terrified.

Just like FOX came around out of nowhere, (though it has moved left since), new social media sites that give freedom to post what you want will appear because MANY, MANY folks, even kids, are cancelling their facebook accounts.
No one likes to be told what they can and can’t say.
Plus especially once RBG dies, lawsuits against these sites can work their way up to the SC.
They are not just business like GE. If their purpose is largely for people to air their opinions, then they are discriminating by only giving some a voice and on THAT, it is not a private issue for the company.

Technology is neither good nor bad. But it will always be used by those with evil intent who wish to control the masses.
YouTube is now so big, and so influential, that it is essentially a public utility. So YouTube must act in the public interest (minimal censorship). If YouTube can’t do that, it should be treated as a monopoly and broken up.
I’m surprised. Surprised they didn’t ban him months ago.
Next up: Banning all conservative YouTube videos and channels.
FaceBook and Twitter has banned us. Google and YouTube will soon follow.

They’ve moved into the category of a public utility. I think it is pretty obvious now.
When FB/YT first came online I thought it was great, it gave us the ability to easily contact friends and family that we’re unable to see very often. YT was a source of news because you can see the raw footage.
I never considered they’d become so powerful and used by tyrannical forces.
I only use FB to wish happy birthday & alike. For any serious discussions I just use gab.com and for video bitchute.com.

We need our Bill of Rights to apply to any social media site that behaves as virtual public space. The same rules should apply as a physical public space. Otherwise make it a private paid account.

Trump is the only thing that kept us from going down England’s road. I fear they are lost, at least until a violent revolution.

But Trump is not in for life. I fear sometimes all we did was buy some time.

Long ago, monopolies were broken up and anti-discrimination laws were enacted to protect consumers.
And when a trillion dollar social media industry is denying access to millions of citizens, then yeah.

A virtual public space. Nice turn of the phrase there, fuzzy. I never thought of YouTube that way, but you’ve nailed it. YouTube is not just a virtual public space. It is by far the biggest virtual public space around.
We won’t be able to recognize the internet in a couple of years. China has effectively built their own firewall-ed & surveiled internet with minimal outside connections. Europe is going to do the same. And Social Media companies will not be able to bridge the gaps. If you have stock in Google or FB I’d be thinking about dumping it.
