More young people than ever before now say they prefer socialism over capitalism. But students at Florida International University weren't so open to socialism if it were to apply to their GPA.
Whether its free healthcare, free college tuition, or universal basic income, students around America increasingly support higher taxes on the wealthy in order to pay for these progressive policies. But would they support similar policies if they had skin in the game? I guess it would be kind of hypocritical for me to say no. Tweet This
To find out, Campus Reform's Cabot Phillips went to Florida International University in Miami to test the waters on a Socialist GPA policy in which students with higher GPAs would be forced to spread the wealth and give some of their GPA points to students with lower GPAs.
Despite the overwhelming number of students who initially said theyd support socialist policies, few agreed to go along with such a plan.

Im all for helping, but I wouldnt give some of my points Ive lost a lot of sleep so I dont know if that would be fair, one student said, while another answered no because I like, study all day for my grades.
Yet another student, after expressing her support for socialism in America conceded, I guess it would be kind of hypocritical for me to say no.
Another student, trying to justify his refusal to abide by such a policy, said, you study for your grades, and they reflect how much time youre studying. What did the rest of the students have to say when asked why it was any different when it came to spreading the financial wealth?

Very quickly a meritocracy, or basically capitalism, becomes much more fair.
Hypocrisy never stands up in the daylight.
At its core, socialism is founded on lying and stealing.
Yep. Where everyones equal.
Equally miserable.
I think they should at least share their GPA’s with minorities.
Socialism looks great when you’re a broke-azz college kid. Things get distributed to you.
But then you get a job, a house, car, spouse and kids, and you see how much is already leaving that paycheck before it hits your account. Suddenly... #FinanciallyWoke
” At its core, socialism is founded on lying and stealing.”
And the ignorance of their base voters. Until the time they are strong enough to do away with voting altogether. Then, off come the masks and the commies come forth.
That equal misery shows us that the left has always been committing the very acts they blame on normal people.
For example, “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer” is actually what we observe in socialist countries.
Meanwhile they use it as a slogan against free markets.

UF students held an unconventional bake sale on Wednesday, one that attempted to point out the flaws of socialism.
Members of UFs Young Americans for Freedom offered passersby on Turlington Plaza two Krispy Kreme doughnuts or three chocolate chip cookies for a dollar with a catch. After paying, students would receive only one of their promised treats. The rest were given away to poke holes in socialist ideals said Daniel Weldon, founder of the organization.
Socialism is the economic and political theory that relies on the government to distribute resources.
Its to make fun of the redistribution of wealth, said Weldon, a 20-year-old UF political science sophomore.
It wont matter much if they win what their grades were. Most will be the concentration camp guards doing all the dirty work for their masters, just like in the Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela, China, and Nazi Germany.
They are reflecting the general stupidity of the general population regarding economics.
Force socialized GPA theft on them.
Just like socialists usually do: FORCE.
At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child-miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats.’’ P. J. ORourke.

Maybe SAT and ACT. Scores should be averaged by local public high schools. The private schools wouldnt be a factor.
I think one state or large city that supports socialism should try it and see how it works before the elites make us all do it.
If these kids were asked to give 60% of their grants and financial aid to those who don’t have much I bet they would not like that either.
They like it when somebody else pays.
Silly little twits.
College socialists are a selfish little lot that come to understand the significance of socialism when it impacts them personally. Wealth redistribution. Yes Grade redistribution. No (unless of course they are dumb which most of them are and would happily accept a piece of some conservative student’s higher grade}
For later
I have been using this example to explain socialism for years.
some of the reactions I have gotten from the “yutes” that have heard it have been priceless.
