While I have never met Gerrold, I worked with his twin brother Richie for 20 years. They each shared a very undesirable body structure. Booth short with bell shaped torsos. This was worsened I imagine by the NY Jewish diet of the 50 which was never designed to lose weight. They each had the stomach staple surgery in their 60s. Unfortunately Richie’s came too late to prevent fiabetes and heart trouble and ge passed away recently. Reason I go into this is something my horgeous late wife admonished me about. She despised Hillary Clinton. She called her evil, yet she would admonish me if I ridiculed Clinyon’s appearance, saying she cannot help what her body looks like. Criticize her not how she looks. This thread reminded me of that and of my friendship with Rivhie Nadler.

He used to be nicknamed “Jerry Waddler” when he weighed over 300 pounds. I believe he had gastric bypass surgery which caused him to drop a lot of weight. Regardless, I will criticize him over many things but not the weight loss.

This is true, I would not make fun of body shape, especially over weightness, I am NOT thin anymore. AOC is someone I have trouble not ridiculing, but I should not.
What the shape is wearing is another issue...
