But there are other kinds of power, and Peele plans on wielding his judiciously. One way is to continue putting black faces on the screen in leading roles. "The way I look at it," he explained, "I get to cast black people in my movies. I feel fortunate to be in this position where I can say to Universal, 'I want to make a $20 million horror movie with a black family.' And they say yes."
It's a formula he's not interested in messing with.
"I dont see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie. Not that I dont like white dudes," he said, nodding over to his moderator pal Roberts. "But I've seen that movie." The line drew loud applause and shouts of agreement. "It really is one of the best, greatest pieces of this story, is feeling like we are in this time a renaissance has happened and proved the myths about representation in the industry are false."

You know what, Jordan?
Cast whomever you want, and whomever best embodies the characters you wish to feature.
You want to make black horror? Then make it. I don’t think that there is enough good black horror out there anyway.
“I dont think that there is enough good black horror out there anyway.”
what about Chicago and Detroit?
You don’t go to theaters to see black horror.
You go to McDonalds at night.
I have a dream, that someday a Man will be able to live in this country and be judged not by the color of his Skin but by the content of his Character.
Oh dang, now that is some real horror there.
Strictly fantasy black horror for this topic, the other type is too real.
I don’t see myself seeing any Jordan Peele movies. No loss.
Oh jeez.
Or maybe Waffle House.
Movies these days go for Diversity with no story

Jordan is half white.
The biggest “black” horror movie was produced by LBJ and has been running for over 50 years.
Totally agree.
I don’t see me watching any of his movies. He can make any movie he wants - I just won’t watch it.
Oh him! Had to look him up.
Well, whatever floats your boat and I ain’t mad; hope that’s not what you were aiming for.
Best of luck, make interesting movies, and don’t call anyone racist if they don’t come out to watch.
The heck you say. :)
Doesn’t sound racist to me. You go with what you know. If he can make a good horror movie better because he’s black and using blacks, good for him. I liked “Get Out” — especially the skewering done on the white liberal facade of equality — and I’m willing to give this one a shot.
he can make his movies about black, white, red, purple, green, blue...I don’t care...I haven’t been to a movie in over ten years and don’t plan to go again...If there is something I want to see, I’ll wait six months and watch it on TV...AT NO COST...
“You go to McDonalds at night.”
Or Chuck E. Cheese or Waffle House! ;)
I saw his movie, Get Out, and I liked it. I thought it was pretty clever. And I appreciate how the horror aspect of the story was generated mostly by the story itself, and not worthless CGI effects.
I also like the sort of racial tension established with the white folk wanting to live in the black folks’ bodies. That was pretty far out.
We have to get back to where we can laugh about stuff like that and enjoy it instead of getting offended or whatever. Race used to be funny. Now it’s so deadry serious.
