Yeah, ditto, although I’m a few years younger.

I haven’t worn any kind of jeans for 20+ years. Haven’t found any that are comfortable until after about 20 machine washings. And I doubt that I have worn Levi’s since I started buying my own clothes.

I’m a khakis guy too.

I haven’t washed a pair of Levi’s in about 20 years. After the Boy Scout fiasco, I haven’t purchased nor even thought about purchasing a pair of Levi’s. I’m certain that nothing will change that.

I think it was the Wrangler brand of jeans that advertised in the 1980’s their adult men’s jeans as having ‘a skosh more room’. This issue shortens the useable lifespan of my beloved Pre Shrunk 501’s a lot these days.

NEVER wash jeans. They shrink.

They appear to be men’s jeans...

If you can’t put them in a wash machine then they must now be junk. When I was a kid every wash machine was a wringer washer and we washed our Levis for years and years before they wore out. You could hand them down in good shape but faded at least three times.

Legit jeans are good old-fashioned dungarees. Hard-working pants designed for hard work — and necessary cleaning.

If you buy jeans for show that are already beat to the edge of ragdom before you even wear them, then sure, best not wash them.

But who wants to be that kind of precious wuss?

Levi’s management sucks. I read some of their recent nonsense. I won’t be buying any.

The Dockers brand is owned by Levi's. If you buy Dockers you're buying a Levi's product.

Levi Strauss are hardcore Communists. They would pull the trigger if they could. Levi Corp are real losers protected by Patent law.

I keep some Levis for home,

but Wranglers for work. Wranglers are inexpensive, fit great and are good for wearing out.

Reward the least Communist CEOs.

“It’s easy. New jeans only get washed gentle cycle cold and hung to dry.
When totally worn they get used for yardwork and eventually tossed.”

I always turn my jeans inside out when washing them. They seem to be easier to iron.

Where I grew up, all blue jeans were Levi’s,
every soft drink was a Coke, and every candy
bar was a Hershey. And every black was... well, you know.

Been wearing Lee jeans forever. Better fit. Better material IMO.

I wear Prison Blues. Their motto: Made on the Inside to be worn on the Outside”. They are made by Oregon Prison Industries on the original Levi’s work pants pattern of heavy denim with the suspender buttons already installed. They are made to fit working men just like the original Levi’s were made to fit the miners in the California gold fields. I’ve yet to wear out a pair of Prison Blues, they are not expensive, and I doubt that anyone associated with their production is promoting gun control.

““Used from New York” at $0.99 starting bid or “buy it now” is not recommended.”

Just as long as you don’t bring them in the house first, I’m sure that hanging them out in the hot summer sun here for a month or two, the ultra violet radiation would take care of any resident parasites quite effectively. (Add a few desert thunderstorms for rinse cycle).

I’ve got a lot of different jeans. Levi’s, Arizona’s, Eddie Bauer, Carhart, L.L. Bean, Lee’s. I shop at the Goodwill for them. I get a lot that hardly show any wear at all. I also have at least half a dozen near new denim jackets; wash ‘em, cut the sleeves off at the shoulders and I’m all set for summer biking!

I can’t remember buying any new ones.
