Which are just various ways of saying the owner’s gross irresponsibility and negligence.

I like dogs, especially big dogs, including pitbulls. What I despise are the majority of idiot a hole dog owners

PS, while I do like pit bulls I really only threw that in to piss off the pitbull fanatics. I’m a bad boy. LOL

I agree that may part of it. But when they are in a pack like in the case of this event here all loyalty or fear of man goes out the window and it can become a frenzy of aggression. They lose all reserve. If the elderly lady had mobility impairments this could have been what set this pack of dogs into a frenzy.

Let me share a true story about one of my own dogs and sensing impairments. The friendliest nicest dogs anyone could have. Couldn’t separate him from kids, ANY and ALL kids. He lived for kids. Even loved cats. Wasn’t even a good watch dog, he loved EVERYONE and would even let total strangers in the house. This dog never got defensive or aggressive not once before this.

One time we had some old friends we had not seen many many years come to visit. As they came through the gate with their three kids the dog was absolutely elated that he had KIDS to play with! Until the last kid was ready to come through the gate. He exploded and went after the kid and was going to eat him. Lucky the kid was able back up and shut the gate before the dog got to him.

We were blown away and completely shocked as I went and put him in a room. Never had anything like that happened before or after except towards this one child. And for the rest of that dogs life we could never let him loose around that one kid. The only thing we could figure after quite awhile is that even though this kid was normal physically he had a mental impairment and the dog may have sensed this.

If it hadn’t been my own dog and I saw it for myself I would never have believed it. But it was the only thing different with this kid from any other kid. What was heartbreaking was that kid so wanted to play with the dog and we couldn’t let him, we tried, it was just never going to happen.

This is when I came up with my theory about dogs sensing weakness in other animals and humans. Since I also found that they can naturally sense a no good rotten scoundrel before we can too. And they are always right in the end.

I take your comments as off subject.

There is no identification that the victim or her relative wanted and were prevented from owning a gun.

If you had wanted to say they should have owned a gun, that would not have been off subject. But suggesting that gun control was the issue in the woman’s death was not.

Wow!

That’s absolutely incredible!

It illustrates though that one never really truly knows what is going on in a dog’s mind.

I think in the case of children, who are so much more easily damaged by a dog attack than an adult (not to say that adults or safe from attack), we as dog owners must be hypervigilant when our dogs are in the presence of children.

Thank you for sharing that story with me.

He didn’t do anything. I had warned him many times that if he didn’t keep them in they were done for. In fact I loaded them on the truck and went and made him deal with disposal. The whole neighborhood was behind me and happy I got it done. It was a community service and he knew he had no complaint against it.

All very true but it doesn’t keep those who consider that no one else has any rights that matter from engaging in acts of deadly violence. This happened in Kentucky and I think NY state that I am aware of. I also know of a house burning down in the middle of the day when no one was home after the homeowner killed a Doberman. The likely perp was a clever career criminal who boasted he could wreck any car and make it look like an accident and burn down any structure and never be caught.

Typical liberal.

Skip all those courses in basic logic, did you.

The only truth must be seen. Typical liberal.

I currently have 4 dogs but when I had two dogs I could take them for a walk out in the country and they would stay with me and listen to my commands. Once I had 3 adult dogs; they would develop a pack mentality and go running off on their own. I’d have to get back to my SUV to chase them down. It’s a weird thing dogs do but I do believe you’re right; they revert back to a pack mentality when they reach the magic number of 3 or more. That has been my personal experience anyway.

It is called pack mentality, 2 or more dogs together will compete with each other. Much like a bunch of teen age boys, one will try and out do the other.

I am totally not a Liberal.

The article had nothing to do with gun control.

There was zero, zip, nada to indicate anyone failed to have and fire a gun at the dogs because of gun control.

There is no “logic” in assuming that just becuuse “gun control” is wrong that every person WANTS to be a gun owner.

Wrongly placing gun control into the picture shows no logic, just a knee jerk reaction.

Absolutely... Size is going to make a huge difference. You know how to subdue a dog if you are being attacked right? I had to do it once. If if he is not just nipping but a full on attack and you know it’s going to be him or you, You grab the back of their head and shove your fist down their throat. They won’t be able to get away from you fast enough and NEVER do it again to ANYONE.

Every child needs to know how to do this just in case. A small child can stop the largest of dogs just as fast with this as the largest man can. Sounds mean but it is the only defense a child can use to stop a dog that truly intends to eat them.

I have read that twice from you, you really don’t know what you are talking about. There are several breed lines of German Shepards that can be very dangerous.

I understand. I was not worried. I am the kind HE had to be wary of and he knew it.

I have seen it many times. I always tell people if you have one dog you have a loyal dog, if you have two or more you have none. They become loyal to each other rather than you. It’s funny how fast they forget they are supposed to listen to you. lol

That’s excellent advice!

Unless of course you are being mauled by a Chihuahua!

But yes, that will will work.
