In theory, of course. Any kind of information can be translated into and stored as electronic bits. Fundamentally, there's no reason why electrical circuits couldn't replicate not only your memories, but your emotions and personality too. In place of neurons, you just substitute electrical circuits.

How to do this in practice is a different story. We'd first have to have a near-perfect understanding of how the brain encodes information, much less how to translate it into another medium. We're nowhere close to that yet.

Sounds like a prescription for a nightmare.

Technology can only replicate the linear logical masculine aspect of consciousness, not love or the non linear emotional feminine aspect of consciousness.

The human soul has both masculine and feminine aspects of consciousness, held together and stabilized by love. Memories are stored in a physical field surrounding the physical body in holograms at the intersection of these two aspects of consciousness.

Gender identity is a function if the dominate aspect, regardless of gender.

These are all physical to me.

The New World Order won’t be that ambitious. Expect a chip to be embedded in your hand or forehead someday that will contain your ID and medical information, what bank accounts you have and their balances. You will not be able to buy or sell without this chip. That should be enough control for the Anti-Christ.

"Each of us knows far too much to be encoded without vast, vast, vast, amounts of storage."

Unless we're proposing it to be infinite, I'd guess Sundar Pichai's last generation data center could handle the volume, but I agree with the others that that my consciousness would not be stored in a recording.

Of course, there is tomorrow.

You can blindfold a person, put in earplugs, I stand many feet from them and say nothing and do not touch them in any way. When I reach out and touch the memories stored in their soul many feet from their physical body it often knocks them off their feet.

It only takes a few minutes to remove the negative emotion attached to a memory that causes PTSD.

Sounds like a bad idea; especially if you were running for office.

You still would not know where you left your keys or even where you parked your vehicle last night. ?

We don’t even know what ‘mind’ is, let alone storing whatever ‘it’ is on a flash drive.

William Gibson's novel Neuromancer (1984) delved into this concept.

Also futurist Ray Kurzweil has also discussed the current state and future possibilities of this happening.

The hallmark of human thought is meaning, and the hallmark of computation is indifference to meaning. That is, in fact, what makes thought so remarkable and also what makes computation so useful. You can think about anything, and you can use the same computer to express your entire range of thoughts because computation is blind to meaning.

Thought is not merely not computation. Thought is the antithesis of computation. Thought is precisely what computation is not. Thought is intentional. Computation is not intentional.

AOC can use a single flip-flop.

Single sided is all she'd need.

Interesting sci-fi movie from the 1990s: “Dark City”. Aliens control a human population (the humans don’t know it) and the aliens experiment with human memory, trying to find out what makes us individuals (the aliens operate on a sort of hive mind). In the end, the aliens are defeated and a human explains that they were looking in the wrong place. It’s not our memories that makes us individuals, it is our heart/soul.

Gotta check out that movie.

Well, let’s see - I have lost or misplaced about 150 flash drives in the last few years. I could just hear, “Mom, Grandpa’s misplaced his mind memory chip again, where should I start looking?”

It’s an agnostic liberal elitist wet-dream that they can live forever without ever acknowledging God. They are in for a rude awakening...

Another movie about recording memories was “Brainstorm,” which was Natalie Wood’s last movie. Very strange film.
