Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recalled how her public-school teachers thought she needed “remedial education” because she had grown up speaking Spanish at home.
The freshman lawmaker, speaking Saturday at a packed town hall organized by the Jackson Heights People for Public Schools, said, “As a child I spoke Spanish first. … and I went to a school where no one looked like me. I went to a school where teachers thought I needed remedial education because I spoke two languages instead of one.”

It is probable that her teachers were trying to HELP her learn English so she wouldn’t be handicapped by not speaking the language of the USA as she grew up. Problem is, she never grew up and exhibits the typical veil of perceived victimhood sought after by most leftards.

As a rule, teachers DO NOT tell a slow child that they are genetically handicapped. They come up with some polite fiction, like speaking Spanish as a primary language, that enables a Stupid to be blissfully unaware that Gaia and their parents f%&ked them over.
I suspect she didn’t speak English proficiently, which is understandable when another language is spoken at home, but has to use every opportunity to play her race card. Being put into remedial courses is meant to help, not insult.
She went to public schools....govt run schools. Now she wants more govt??? She does need remedial education

Exactly. And, once again, she provides information that is easily researched and more likely, proven wrong. At her age, given the timeline she provided, it’s going to be rather easy to research the demographics of the school(s) she attended. If/when the research proves her wrong, she’ll play the victim but also give more credibility to her being chosen in a “casting call”.
However, she and the other three are creations of the Dr. Frankensteins of the Democratic Party, not anything else.
It was written that she went through $50k in savings during her campaign and that is why she had to start taking a paycheck from it. Which is legal. But.........
Her aides say that she and her partner struggled to pay $1000 a month to live in the condo she got from her dad, which was mortgage free.
She was a bartender. If she did burn through $50k in savings, how did she save all of that and did she pay all the appropriate taxes on that money?
So....to go along with your comment....Where’s the money? How was she able to live?

Hell, my grandfather, as an immigrant child, spoke 4-5 languages before he came to America and learned perfect English. (He spoke Russian, Yiddish, German, Herbrew and perhaps some Polish).

After talking to some millennials, I found out why I think that she’s she’s a complete idiot. It’s from “paying attention to Republican scaremongering.” It seems that I’m too stupid to form that opinion from listening to her own words. They ignored my response and still claim that I’m being influenced by the right.
