I do want to know whether the studio is pulling off some kind of fraud with the box office numbers for this because I keep hearing it has lousy turn-outs but the studio is claiming mega-success.
I noticed that in my region the mega-plexes have featured it like crazy, i.e., it shows in multiple theaters, scheduled to start every 30 or 60 min., in two mega-plexes that are almost across the highway from each other (and which normally don’t ever show the same movies, as far as I have ever noticed).
So are all these showings really packed with moviegoers (I keep hearing otherwise)????
Or is the studio doing some kind of massive fraud and pumping up the numbers? unless these showings are all full or nearly full I can’t imagine why there would be so many of them......

Saw Captain Marvel. Great film. This reviewer has an obvious bias. Yes, I know what Larson said, but this guy is just trying to be an ass.
If seeing and liking this movie makes me no longer a patriotic American, then something is wrong.

I went to see the movie last night. It was OK, but it had transitions that slapped you in the face.
For example, in one scene she is dressed in jeans and a tee shirt. Cut to the next scene and she is in full uniform. What?
Then there is the scene when she walks into a bar fifty miles from nowhere. Out strolls Samuel L Jackson from behind the bar. No discussion how he tracked her there. He was just there.
The movie is full of horrible writing and even worse editing.
In terms of the look and effects, it was good. A typical Marvel “B” level chapter. Not horrible. Not great.
Seems like a few people like putting money in the pockets of people who despise them, for a little bit of mindless entertainment.

This gal cost the MOVIE STUDIO PAYING HER AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE MOVIE tens of millions to 100 million dollars worldwide.
You just do not deliberately piss off a huge segment of your normal movie goers. And still keep your job. Moneys money. You cant fix stupid but you sure as hell ought to fire it when it crops up and insults a whole swath of customers, and costs you a lot of easy profit you should have received.

It seems to be doing exceptionally well in the Pacific Rim....

One strange thing. I just noticed that “Box Office Mojo” does not report any revenue from Japan for “Captain Marvel.”
I guess that means the film has not opened there yet.
