A Fort Lauderdale man was in for a surprise when he went to use the bathroom Thursday. Man finds iguana in toilet, calls 911. Firefighters respond to the home, remove the lizard. Iguana was taken outside and released into the wild. The man found an iguana inside his toilet bowl and called 911. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the man's home and removed the lizard from the toilet. Firefighters then took the iguana outside and released it. The fire department shared pictures of the iguana on social media. "Can you imagine lifting the toilet seat and finding this? Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said in a tweet. The man reportedly called Florida Fish and Wildlife first, but was told the agency doesn't respond to those type of calls.

The war against toxic testosterone has been won.

Put on a pair of work gloves and set the critter outside. What's easier than that?

Ha! I have neighbors ( senior citizens to their credit, but still...). A large goose got into their home and was chasing the husband around the dining room table as it hissed at him.

His wife called the cops to get it removed.

At least he wasn’t standing on a chair screaming because he saw a mouse in the kitchen.

Released into the wild?

FFWCC might not be too happy about that, seeing as green iguanas are an invasive species in FL. Just like cane toads and burmese pythons.

LOL

Being a city boy I don’t know what I’d do.

I guess I’d check online to see if they were poisonous and if they were, put on 2 pairs of thick rubber gloves and toss it outside.

The fire department did that for free? I called animal control once to report a bat in my house and they told me it would cost me $150.00.

I took the bat out myself.

If it was a green iguana, I’d do what FFWCC recommends: Put it in a trash bag, and then shove it into the freezer, and then once it’s solid, bury it in the backyard.

Invasive species, after all.

I don’t think they are native.

Kill it and feed it to your dogs and cats.

LOL! Quick thinking on their part.

Given that they are vegetarian, they are pretty benign as invasives go.

Now those monitor lizards are another matter....

Read the accompanying video at the site about a service dog that had it's tail broken by its groomer on purpose because it wouldn't stay still.......

I'd burn the place down......

Actually, freezing a reptile is one of the most humane ways you can euthanise it. A couple of minutes, they’re cold enough they just pass out.
