Plane turns around after mom on board realizes she left her baby in the terminal

Kuala Lumpur-bound flight, which headed back to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, when a frantic passenger told the crew that she had accidentally left her baby in the boarding area of the terminal, according to local publication Gulf News.

A subsequent conversation between the Saudia Airlines pilot and air traffic control, which was uploaded to YouTube, has since gone viral.

“May God be with us. Can we come back or what?” the pilot can be heard saying over the radio.

“This flight is requesting to come back … a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing,” someone can be heard saying.

Twitter user Fahad M. Al Barrak, who shared the original audio of the incident, said the baby had been left with its sister, who boarded the wrong bus at the terminal.

When the mother realized the pair hadn’t made the flight, she insisted the plane turn round, Al Barrak claimed.

That’s really absent minded. Now I don’t feel so bad for thinking that I had lost my car keys, calling AAA for a tow, then finding the keys in my other pocket after ending that phone call. “No problem, Sir. I’m glad you found your keys!”

Most likely a stressed out and frazzled parent. I remember one time my wife and I were flying and we had to sit in different areas of the plane. I was holding the baby and my older son was sitting with my wife. I meant to hand the baby off to her too but decided to give her a break for at least part of the flight. She went into a temporary panic once she sat down and had to make sure the baby was with me.

This is also how babies get left strapped in car seats on hot days. A terrible thing but it does happen from time to time and not necessarily a criminal act. But you will live with that kind of mistake for the rest of your life.
