The so-called V3 Supercharger operates at 250 kilowatts -- approximately twice that of the older stations -- and can charge some of its cars at a rate of 75 miles every five minutes, which Tesla is promoting as “1,000 miles per hour,” without explaining the math. (75 x 12 = 900, doesn't it?)
(Following the publication of this article, a Tesla representative clarified that the "1,000 mph" speed is a peak rate that is only sustained for a portion of the initial five-minute period on batteries at a low state of charge.
Average speeds over longer charging times were not provided, as the system is still in development.)
Combined with a new feature that brings the car’s battery pack to an optimal charging temperature as it is approaching the station, Tesla says total charging time will be reduced by up to 50 percent.
The higher speed was enabled, in part, by a switch to liquid-cooled charging cables, according to the Teslarati blog.
For now, the Fremont, Calif., station is in Beta mode and only compatible with Tesla Model 3s, which use a newer type of battery cell technology than the Model S and X, and is only being made available to a select group of owners in the Tesla Early Access Program.

Maybe so...but the reviews I've seen of the Bolt (not to be mistaken with the Volt) have been pretty positive...particularly given its sticker price.
The new Tesla S batteries are not old lead plate types. The battery packs are composed of 2170 Lithium cells, which are similar to the 18650 cells found in laptop batteries, and most portable power packs. Cells are 21mm in diameter and 70 mm long, which gives you an idea of how many of these individuals cells are required for Tesla’s battery packs. Improved chemistry as well as size increased cell capacity...with however serious caveats...
“The change in form factor of its battery cells isn’t all good news, though, according to Jack, as the new chemistry results in a flammability temperature of just 150–180°F due to the higher energy density of its cells — compared to a flammability point of 350°F with the 18650 cells. The increased risk of flammability of the new cell design is likely why Tesla chose to upgrade the cooling system of the Model 3 pack, mitigating the increased risk at the cellular level.”
Hich accounts for the increased cooling not just at the Supercharger station but in each model Tesla 3. First responders have greater cause for concern at accident sites.

Chevy Bolt easily matches range of Tesla 3 for similar money, but it is smaller.
I don't know if it's a big seller but it does exist.There are many reviews of the Bolt on youtube and the ones I've seen have been at least reasonably positive.
No vehicle on earth satisfies every possible user's wants and needs. Tesla is an early entry into a new segment, and it will develop and improve over the decades. A 1920 Ford and a 1970 Ford and a 2020 Ford are all remarkably different vehicles. The low range isn't meant for everyone. That's fine. 300-500 mi range electric vehicles are a while away. In the meantime, the shorter range vehicles (with amazing acceleration) do make many owners quite happy.
No, I noticed it when I returned the nozzle to the pump. Cost $150 to have it hauled to a mechanic and drained.

I know a couple of idiots who had to drive a company flatbed truck to pick up a large repaired item.
On the way to FL from SC, they stopped at a station to gas up. They topped off the wrong fuel. Somehow they got gas and diesel backwards somehow.
Sorry. I’ve owned GM vehicles since I was 16. My last GM vehicle will be my current 98 Z71.
I just got back from a short visit. A friend of mine requested my presence for some business we are dealing with, so I jumped in the car and ran up to her place, 2 hours (110 miles) away. The temperature when I left was 44*F, so I had the heat on, the wipers going occasionally, with the lights on and radio playing.
We dealt with her issues, and then went for a short drive (35-ish miles) to discuss and arrange for other matters.
I then dropped her back off at her place, and then came back home. The entire drive home (that same 110 miles, plus a pit stop for a burger) was in the dark, with temperatures just above freezing, at 60+ mph.
In a Tesla, I would need to charge my car for the next 16 hours to get the same amount of distance/energy as I put into the car in 2 1/2 minutes.
That is, *IF* I had fully charged it before leaving my house. I had less than 1/4 tank in the car (I normally keep it full, but oopsed), and still made it to her town, where I bought fuel.
So, were it electric other than a hybrid, I’d have been stuck.
Commuting around town, sure, nice ride. Anything else, gimme my gasoline/diesel powered beastie.

Just drive a big one ton that rolls coal all over, then they won’t get mistaken heh.
My dad was pretty mad last time he took his car and myself in my truck and we took the family up in the mountains in southern BC. After we got back to Hope, he had to fill up his hybrid Toyota Camry, and I was still over 3/4, he looks at my dash and it said 7.8/100. That’s over 30 MPG and better than he got heh. I’m also 10,000lbs with a sled deck and full load of tools etc. He thinks he got ripped off now. I told him to stay away from electric.
That's 22 minutes from completely drained batts to full for a Model 3 with the long range option, 15 minutes for standard capacity [*]. Add a fraction of a minute if its blazing hot outside or really cold out, and you prefer to wait in the climate-controlled interior, making a couple of calls or surfing FR.
