The passenger carrying the easily-spread virus was a Santa Cruz County resident, according to the San Francisco Department of Public Health. That flight exposed a San Francisco and a Santa Clara County resident to the disease, and both grew sick but no other passengers from the flight contracted the virus, which officials know because measles develops within 21 days of exposure, and the flight was more than three weeks ago, the health department said.
Health officials said in the news release that the general public is at very low risk of measles as a result of these cases. Its the citys first case of measles since 2013, the county public health department said in a press release on Tuesday.
Rachael Kagan, a spokesperson for the San Francisco health department, told McClatchy in a phone interview Thursday that the flight that the virus spread on came from Asia.

Such is Life when you spend time in a sealed Aluminum Tube with other unfortunates.
An outbreak of measles in San Fransisco would be an increase in health for them.
In SF it might mutate into the kind of disease we wouldn't dare have fun speculating about on this family friendly forum.
We must jail all anti-vaxxers!!! But we must never restrict the free flow of human beings across those artificial boundaries called borders, those should be open. It should be illegsl to ask anyone at any borders for papers!!!
- Democrat Socialist probably
How many cases of measles, nationally, are we freaking out over? 500?
The media and CDC narrative to nationalize efforts to remove conscience exemptions continues apace.
1 in 36 US children now have autism. Hundreds of thousands. And trending upwards. We have the most over-vaccinated, over-medicated, improperly nourished obese children in the Western world. Great job, establishment monopoly medicine!
I hope there weren’t any pregnant women on the plane.
Houston has lots of measles cases thanks to the illegal invaders. TB is on the rise too. But no wall needed.
Illegals, just bringing the diseases back to life in America. It’s an act of love.
ROTFLMAO! OTOH you might actually be serious!
Not sure why people are assuming this resident was not an illegal
The other point is, I know many boys In my circle with autism. One who was fine until he got five vaccines in one day. His personality changed overnight. No way did I let my kids get vaccines all at once. And never did I send them to school without vaccinations
This resident had never been vaccinated. Very difficult for a us citizen to reach adulthood able to afford a plane ticket without number one not having a measles vaccine and tow no educated adult, ie, one who could get through the system to adulthood with no measles vaccine would get on an airplane with an active case of measles
Sorry. Ppl can spew anti vaccine hatred all they want, this resident was an America victimizing loathsome illegal immigrant.
Considering it was a San Fagsicko passenger, measles is fairly benign...................
Every time I open a news site, it is another story about measles or mumps. Getting quite sick of the narrative.
You think our children are healthy here? You ought to travel some internationally. What percent of our youth are too fat to be able to pass basic training?
You got it. That is how they think.
They are worried because even though most parents do at least some vaccines, many are asking questions, declining certain shots, spacing them out, and yes getting the conscience exemption. Can’t have that.
Cootiefornia again..
As for mumps...
Texas health officials report that nearly 200 people contracted mumps in migrant detention facilities located across the state so far this fiscal year
This all started with the Obama decisions to open the floodgates of illegals. We are getting known, but supposedly eradicated diseases, and new diseases. The media tries to blame white people who disagree with some or all aspects of current vaccine madness.
Illegals: Spreading the diseases that Americans won’t spread any more.
If only we knew some way to protect people from getting the Measles....
Been over a dozen years since I’ve been on a plane - and that was official military business as a civilian....last vacation flight was over 25 years ago...always drive these days.
I just transcribed a congressional hearing on this very subject. All of them, House members and witnesses from CDC and NIH, were falling over themselves to pin this on anti-vaxxers who traveled and brought diseases home with them. Nobody brought up the actual cases of diseased illegals in detention centers at the border. Only one Congressman (I think Duncan) mentioned "watching asylum seekers more closely" or some similar weak-ass suggestion.
