scratchin my head...Boyd’s letter of 11/13/2017 to Goodlatte should have been addressed by the IG report of June 2018 to answer these things.
It’s the Sessions letter of 11/22/2017 to Huber that’s key, here.
Nothing I’ve seen says that order has been countermanded.
Why is it a big deal now, without knowing what else took place between then and now ?

.Allegations that Department and FBI employees improperly disclosed non-public information; and
.Allegations that decisions requiring the timing of the FBI's release of certain Freedom of Information Act Documents on October 30 and November 1, 2016, and the use of a Twitter account to publicize the Sam, were influenced by improper considerations
These investigations include issues raised in your letters In Addition, the Department has Forwarded a copy of your letters to the IG so he can determine whether the should expand the scope of his investigations based on the information contained in those letters.
Once the IG's review is complete, the Department will assess what, if any steps are necessary to address any issues identified by the review.

There is a fine Old Navy tradition called "A Request With the Effect of a Direct Order" that covers the actions of a senior officer (particularly a Flag Officer or Admiral) in issuing verbal orders to subordinates phrased as requests.
Needless to say, if an Admiral says, "I would appreciate if you would move that aircraft/ship to a different location", that aircraft/ship is going to be moving very, very quickly indeed.
I don't believe that Mister Sessions has served in the Navy but he most assuredly understands and uses that tactic.

Yes, Bruce Ohr seems to be a cover story for how the dossier came to the FBI and DOJ--a plausible explanation that attempts to shield Obama and all the other political-path people who were actually behind it all.
I would add that, in his ENTIRE TESTIMONY, Ohr did not dis Trump a single time (unlike Strzok, Comey, McCabe etc.). It seems he took Christopher Steele, who contacted him, at face value ... and this caused him do what he had always done in similar situations, and pass on the potentially alarming "Source information" to the FBI.
To me, he comes across as gullible. If his wife is C_A, she may have been involved in manipulating him.

I think it is about a couple of things.
The left is upset that an investigation into HRC is going on but they have not had anyone leak information to the MSM about it. They have no idea what is going on with it and that scares them. So now we are seeing these letters as a result of a FOIA request by a left-winger who is claiming exactly what you would expect. That Trump has weaponized the DOJ against his political opponents. Think mirror. Projection.
Also, many have stated that Huber has done nothing and weren’t even sure Huber was investigating anyone connected with HRC or U1 or anything related to the Clintons. Think sealed indictments that have been increasing for a year now. Now they know Sessions requested the investigation and they are in a panic.
