A new rumor has landed online that echoes my own concerns about the Captain Marvel movie and Brie Larson, but this is claimed to be coming from on top -- as high as Disney CEO Bob Iger.
The rumor claims that the Avengers cast, or certain members of the Avengers cast, is unhappy with Brie Larson being the face of the MCU going forward. It's said one particular actress - hinted at it being Elizabeth Olsen - feels that they are getting pushed aside, that they are getting treated differently.

Solo was in trouble before anyone ever had a chance to boycott it. The fact that the original directors were fired and Ron Howard brought in to salvage what they could, requiring reshoots and blowing up the budget, shows that. And despite that, the movie still took in 400 million dollars and was the #11 movie of the year. A year, by the way, where Disney had the #1, #2, and #3 movies.
Yeah, I’ll have to watch it because i have to watch every MC thing. But from what I’ve read, her character has zero character development, and her powers don’t allow for any drama because she never really seems like she is in danger.
And apparently, she wasn’t very good at her acting in this particular role, don’t know if she is usually a good actor or not, as I don’t know if I’ve seen her in anything.
Disney paid a lot for the Star Wars franchise, and i've read articles claiming that they could have gotten a better return on investment putting the money elsewhere.
I think the claim was that each movie had to make over a billion dollars to be a financial success, and 400 million was no where near what they needed to make to recoup their investment in the franchise.
Obviously Disney thought something was wrong, because they've put a hold on other productions, and they were sniffing up JJ Abrams tree.
Parents who name their children after a type of cheese....
Why not, Parmesan, or Camembert, or Asiago, or Formaggio?
Those reports would be ignoring the secondary market. SW is way more than just moves. The first Force Friday when they released all the new toys before the first Disney SW movie hauled in a billion dollars right there. Books. TV shows. Comics. DVDs. Disney was probably in the black on that deal before their second movie came out.
Or just bring back Hitler but now he is the Jew Hating homo that is a hero to the left.
A movie is a movie, however Brie Larson seems to think that she is still CM now that it is over and that playing (pretending) to be that character she now thinks everyone has to has to bow to her. Sad reality of Hollywood, too many people PRETENDING to be another person having delusions of adequacy.
Oh yes! I'm furious that they wrote the Hulk out of Infinity Wars. I can see two reasons for it. The Hulk would have kicked Thanos ass and a proper fight between the two would have taken 2 hours of pure CGI action. Way too much work and money to produce.
By the way Thanos is the typical insane liberal. "The universe is finite and we need to kill off people". Exactly liberal think.

Speaking of Godzilla...
;-)
Im wondering when the next Toho Godzilla movie will come out...
Disney paid 4 billion in cash and stock for Lucas. Six years later, the movies have made about that much. They paid the same thing for Marvel in 2009, and they paid 7.5 billion for Pixar in 2006. Those are both seen as brilliant moves, despite the fact that "The Good Dinosaur" only made 300 million and the first Captain America movie only made 176 million. One underperforming movie does not doom a franchise.
Technically, Star Wars had TWO underperforming movies (Last Jedi also was a bomb ESPECIALLY in China, pretty much the one audience that exceeds America at the moment in Hollywood’s view. And to add insult to injury, based on how JJ Abrams behaved where he effectively pulled the same stunt that the infamous 2016 remake of the Ghostbusters pulled by inferring its audience was “afraid of women” suggests even HE knew it was a bust in America as well). And apparently Star Wars Resistance got pretty bad reviews from what I heard. In fact, it’s not just the movies, even the actual merchandising for Star Wars has been bombing lately, having a massive decrease in revenue (and if that’s not bad enough, apparently it’s bad enough to actually affect the mainline Disney products like Frozen): https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2019/01/star-wars-revenue-takes-hit-across-video-games-merchandise-comic-books/75132/ In fact, Disney’s doing so badly in terms of sales that, at the time that article was written, the MCU is pretty much the only thing keeping Disney afloat, and based on Captain Marvel’s current reception, I’d argue it’s probably not even going to have that keeping it aloft any longer. I’m guessing Iger’s probably going to need to consider resigning if he doesn’t want the shareholders to give him the same fate that Michael Eisner got (being ousted, in other words).
Also, the first Captain America movie was not made by Disney (heck, it predated the deal selling the MCU over to Disney). If you were meaning the Avengers, then we’re getting somewhere.
My suggestion to all those who hate Marvel movies, or Star Wars, or anything like it:
Don’t go see any.
There, easy-peasy, no?
I’ve seen ‘em all, and will continue. I hate the actors—love the characters.
And face it, if we conservatives ban any movie or show with a Left-wing actor, NOTHING would be watched.
Wait a minute now... I saw Infinity Wars. The Hulk was on the Asgardian’s wrecked ship and DID fight Thanos... And lost.
I did want to see Hulk come back and fight again... But he wasn’t written out of the movie at all.
And Banner was in that dorky Hulk armored robot the Wakadians made.
...down to 82% on Rotten Tomatoes...
The one you’re thinking of is the DC character.
The Captain Marvel of DC and the Captain Marvel of...well, Marvel, are entirely different characters.
There were/are two captain marvel characters. The one you describe is Shazam and owned by DC. The Marvel comics Captain marvel was originally a male kree warrior. Then it got boring and in the eighties he died and was replaced by a female character. She is a B level character at best. Not terribly bad but not a great one.
It’s not that we hate the Marvel movies or Star Wars, its that they are unfortunately being used as vehicles by the radical left to push their agenda (though to be fair, Star Wars unfortunately was ALWAYS meant to be leftist propaganda, especially when Lucas created the franchise to basically be anti-Vietnam War/pro-Vietcong propaganda per his own admission and development notes).
And quite frankly, regarding leftist actors, I can tolerate them as long as they don’t try to get political and just do their job at actually acting. If anything, I have more concern about leftist directors or leftist screenwriters, who DO in fact wield a lot of power and most certainly can’t seem to keep their political opinions to themselves.
Why single out these two franchises, when what you say is true of almost any Hollywood production; TV, movie, music or even Broadway?
I gave up a lot of this as an adult conservatives, but will still watch action, adventure and sci-fi flicks.
As far as Lucas’s “desire” for his films, we don’t have to accept it. I think of the Rebellion as the American Patriots, and the Empire as King George III’s forces.
But even so, both are far-fetched. It’s just a story (young orphan takes on world, find source of his early beginnings were based on betrayal, defeats betrayers while rescuing his father) as old as the Greek dramas.
Yes and that so called fight was so out of character that I'm saying he was written out of the movie. When Thor and the Hulk fought the punches would send them through walls on an aircraft carrier and you'd have to wait for them to come back. Hulk vs Thanos were pathetic little boxers jabs that contained no energy at all. The hulk can leap some thousands of feet or can fall from any distance and when he hits the ground there is a crater yet the Hulk is unscathed. Thanos made picking the Hulk up seem heavy, then body slammed him from about 12 feet and THAT was supposed to knock the Hulk out. NO WAY. He was never in the movie because he would have spoiled the whole plot.
