Massacre of Children in Peru Might Have Been a Sacrifice to Stop Bad Weather
New York Times ^ | March 6, 2019 | Nicholas St. Fleur

Last year archaeologists in Peru announced the discovery of a centuries-old ritual massacre, at a site they believed was the largest known case of child sacrifice ever found.

Buried beneath the sands of a 15th-century site called Huanchaquito-Las Llamas were nearly 140 child skeletons, as well as the remains of 200 llamas.

While the reasoning behind the gruesome mass murder of the boys and girls — who were only between the ages of 5 and 14 — cannot be definitively determined, the researchers now say the act was done out of desperation in response to a disastrous climatic event: El Niño.

Based on this research

Abstract

Here we report the results of excavation and interdisciplinary study of the largest child and camelid sacrifice known from the New World. Stratigraphy, associated artifacts, and radiocarbon dating indicate that it was a single mass killing of more than 140 children and over 200 camelids directed by the Chimú state, c. AD 1450. Preliminary DNA analysis indicates that both boys and girls were chosen for sacrifice. Variability in forms of cranial modification (head shaping) and stable isotope analysis of carbon and nitrogen suggest that the children were a heterogeneous sample drawn from multiple regions and ethnic groups throughout the Chimú state. The Huanchaquito-Las Llamas mass sacrifice opens a new window on a previously unknown sacrificial ritual from fifteenth century northern coastal Peru. While the motivation for such a massive sacrifice is a subject for further research, there is archaeological evidence that it was associated with a climatic event (heavy rainfall and flooding) that could have impacted the economic, political and ideological stability of one of the most powerful states in the New World during the fifteenth century A.D.

The Chimu and the Democrats worship the same deity.

“.....the researchers now say the act was done out of desperation in response to a disastrous climatic event: El Niño.?”

Sounds to me as though Environmental Whackoism is not new.

We must eliminate words from our language such as “Global Warming”, “farting cows”, and “fossil fuels”. Then the E.W’s can’t use those words ever again to leverage power over the World. Yeah, That’s the ticket!

Winning.

I expect the wacko leftists of the “anthropogenic climate change” cult will soon be calling for human sacrifice ... Oh, wait - they are already doing this with their legalization of infanticide.

Problem. Bad global weather. Problem, feral children, gangs and bad guys. Would the Inca way solve both problems at the same time?

Let's see; they believed in catastrophic climate change and post-birth abortions infanticide.
They were Progressive Democrats.

Gangs and “bad guys” are an issue which deserves severity; but I have a problem with advocating such reprisals against children - even those considered “feral.”

they tore the hearts out of 200 llamas.

Now, llamas were only owned by royalty. And they can survive on relatively slim pickings. Two-hundred llamas had to have been a pretty large herd for the time, requiring multiple shepherds/servants. Sacrificing that many animals meant sacrificing years of fleece - i.e., wealth, and a reduction in the size of the royal household. So the sacrifice must have been a last resort to an existential crisis, especially if the carcasses of the llamas indicate starvation.

OK, we are nearing peak idiocy. Now "climate change" causes mass child sacrifices.

So, they can find 140 skeletons from before Columbus arrived, but they never find any skeletons from the alleged 100 million deaths caused by European diseases and warfare AFTER Columbus arrived?

Blame the bad weather on TRUMP!

Damned. It was the Chimu people who carried out the sacrificial massacre.

There goes my fortune. I was going to blame it on the old “bad” Incas and sell “MIGA” hats (Make Incas Great Again). Never mind!

Thank God that sick culture in Mexico and South America was wiped out.

Yeah, and we are so much better. Kill millions in the womb; dissect any number of the dead and sell their parts; and now we have legitimized putting to death those babies who have the bad manners to survive the abortionist's knife.

No question we are a much better people.

Too bad Freud came along so late in the game. The idea of unconscious motivation is completely unknown even to many people today. And so is Malthus.

All of these “religious sacrifices” were to get rid of extraneous population.
