The NSA stopped collecting bulk phone data, and nothing bad happened
Washington Examiner ^ | 03-06-19 | Dan King

Civil liberties activists have long argued that bulk collection of Americans’ phone records doesn’t make us any safer. Now, we’ve got pretty clear evidence that’s the case. Luke Murry, an adviser to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., told the Lawfare Podcast on Saturday that for the last six months the Trump administration “hasn’t actually been using” the phone record collection program authorized by the 2015 USA FREEDOM Act. He added that he’s unsure if the administration will ask Congress to reauthorize this program at the end of the year. If Murry is telling the truth about the administration’s non-use of the phone metadata collection program, then it’s even more obvious proof that such a program does more to damage civil liberties than it does to protect national security. Clearly, the administration shouldn’t ask Congress to reauthorize this program.

I wish they’d use their system to catch all the spam calls.

Color me cynical. Ideally, (and legally) our President should be kept apprised of such surveillance, but I’d be very much surprised to find that this surveillance has stopped. And I’m willing to bet that he’s not the only President who has been kept in the dark about such things.

After the 2016 Deep State ongoing coup can we really believe anything that these traitors say anymore? Trump questions his intell peoples presentation, how could he NOT question anything they tell him at this point.

Other than jail terms and very public prosecutions I don’t see any way that the federal bureaucracy can ever regain the trust of the American people after their diabolical and traitorous lies and criminal behavior. This is on them 100%.

After Trump the republic dies and the Deep State will give its blessing or lead the effort to finish it off.

NSA records all electronic emissions but that does not mean they incorporate any of it in a particular program bu it is there ... if they can find it.

The article says the supposed stoppage six months ago shows it did not good. One cannot prove why something like a terror attack did not happen. I am not saying it is needed, or proper. One could say the TSA is doing a great job since we’ve not had another 9-11. Is that true? /rhetorical

From the article:

Clearly, the administration shouldn’t ask Congress to reauthorize this program.

That's true, but unless congress and all govt employees (including judges and DOJ) start believing in the 4th amendment, they will continue the unconstitutional spying by some means, whether it is "authorized" or not. We have let them get away with it too long, and the media has brainwashed too many voters.

I strongly agree with your post And tell thugs like Brennan, Clapper and Hayden to stop working against OUR duly elected President.

That would be a good place to start. The DOJ should start investigating/prosecuting the traitors, but "Oh no, that would divide the country!"
