“And the winning number is........not yours...”
Dang. I hope it works out well for the winner.
If I could claim such prize, I’d be pulling up in my camper and a burner phone, with about 6 months of time on it.
Personally, I would rather win a much more modest sum. Nobody could have a normal life by any stretch of the imagination with that much money involved, and who could you trust? Maybe 10-15 million, tops, would be overjoyed with much less. I’d want to make a more secure future for our kids and grandkids, enjoy what’s left of retirement, give some to good causes. And I hate that winners are identified publicly, though I’m sure the ones winning the gigantic sums claim it more quietly with the help of a lawyer.
Wow. Over 877 million. It just boggles my mind.
Why not have 877 people win one million?
Uh..that’s 900m BEFORE tax, and the tax is collected up front:
It will probably crack up as 550m.
So 1.5b all the way down to 550m
What if I promised you a delux steak dinner for $10, then hit you with a bill for $30..?
Lotteries are corruption-bound monopolies, and false advertising is permitted.
“Allowing another customer in line”
Could be rubbing it in that somebody shoved in line...it’s happened to me.
Well, not the $800 mil part.
I could win a billion dollars easily. But a billion other people would all have the same number. And somehow I would owe all of the taxes on the billion. That’s the way my luck works.
Wonder what the state tax would be in NJ or NY or CA..
Don’t you mean a newly found relative? 8>)
I would have a full staff: crew, service people, chef and staff, medical staff, etc.
My wife and I would travel the world... changing locations once we get bored with where we are.
Aside from traveling and my passion for photography, my primary job will be overseeing my stateside team of investment folks and researching worthy charities for receiving donations and possible bequeaths.
I could probably get used to such a lifestyle.
dang won 1.5 billion and already down to nearly 700 million due to their first bad choice.
lol
then they have to pay taxes on that gonna guess around half of the 877.. so lets say they end up with 450 million... which means they lost over one billion right off the bat of that amount.
now they would of had to pay taxes no matter what, but the only time payment option was just pure stupidity.
