SELMA, Ala. — Speaking Sunday at the historic Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, former Secretary of State, First Lady, and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton suggested a key Supreme Court decision may have cost her the White House.(snip)
“I was the first person who ran for president without the protection of the Voting Rights Act and I will tell you, it makes a really big difference,” Clinton said.
Clinton prefaced her comments by discussing the history of the Voting Rights Act, which was passed in 1965. The law required federal oversight of voting in nine southern states and an array of other jurisdictions that were found to have engaged in discriminatory practices. Clinton noted the law was reauthorized by Congress in 2006 while she was in the Senate.
“It was based on thousands and thousands of pages of testimony as to why we ... needed the Voting Rights Act. I thought it was a done deal, passed out of the Congress, signed by a Republican president, and then it found its way to the Supreme Court,” Clinton recounted.
Clinton said Republicans who wanted to “pull back rights” were behind the legal challenge that brought the 2013 Supreme Court decision, in which conservative justices struck down the core of the law.
“They found a receptive Supreme Court who came up with the most absurd decision,” said Clinton, adding, “They gutted the Voting Rights Act.”(snip)
“It doesn’t just make a difference in Alabama and Georgia. It made a difference in Wisconsin where the best studies that have been done said somewhere between 40,000 and 80,00” thousand people were turned away from the polls because of the color of their skin, because of their age, because of whatever excuse could be made up to stop a fellow American citizen from voting,” Clinton said.

- No matter how much vote harvesting they do, it will not affect the Senate (there are already two democrats from California).
-No matter how much vote harvesting they do, it will not affect the Presidency (California's number of electors is fixed until the next census, and the number of VOTES does not affect electoral allocation).
-No matter how much vote harvesting they do, it will not affect the Courts (California has a say in the population of the courts only through its senators, which are already chosen, and both are already democrats).
- California will likely LOSE representatives after the 2020 census, with illegal immigration being thwarted and a citizenship question likely being on the 2020 census (currently being litigated in court). (hat tip cotton 1776)

Herself: In her book, Hillary blames her “damn emails,” her remarks about putting coal miners out of business, and calling Trump’s supporters “deplorable.”
Russia: “What Putin wanted to do was...influence our election, and he’s not exactly fond of strong women, so you add that together and that’s pretty much what it means.”
The DNC: “I’m now the nominee of the Democratic Party. I inherit nothing from the Democratic Party. It was bankrupt...I had to inject money into it - the DNC - to keep it going.”
Sexism and misogyny: “Sexism and misogyny played a role in the 2016 presidential election. Exhibit A is that the flagrantly sexist candidate won.”
A Democratic predecessor: “It’s really difficult to succeed a president of your own party who has served two terms. That is a historical fact.”
Bernie Sanders: “His attacks caused lasting damage, making it harder to unify progressives in the general election and paving the way for Trump’s ‘Crooked Hillary’ campaign.”
Wikileaks: “The comey letter, aided to great measure by the Russian WikiLeaks, raised...doubts again. And so even though I won the popular vote, enough people in a few states...were just raising all these questions.”
Her “traditional” campaign: “I was running a traditional presidential campaign...while Trump was running a reality TV show that expertly and relentlessly stoked Americans’ anger and resentment.”
The debate questions, not being asked “how the candidates planned to create jobs”: “I was waiting for the moment when one of the people asking the questions would have said, ‘Well, so, exactly how are you going to create more jobs?’”
Political journalists: “[Journalists] can’t bear to face their own role in helping elect Trump, from providing him free airtime to giving my emails three times more coverage than all the issues affecting people’s lives combined.”
Campaign financing: “You had Citizens United come to its full fruition. So unaccountable money flowing in against me, against other Democrats, in a way that we hadn’t seen and then attached to this weaponized information war.”
President Obama: “I do wonder sometimes about what would have happened if President Obama had made a televised address to the nation...warning that our democracy was under attack. Maybe more Americans would have woken up to the threat in time.”
TV coverage of the campaign: “When you have a presidential campaign and the total number of minutes on TV news...was 32 minutes, I don’t blame voters. Voters are going to hear what they hear...and if they don’t get a broad base of information to make judgements on.”
Low-information voters: “You put yourself in the position of a low-information voter, and all of a sudden your Facebook feed, your Twitter account is saying, ‘Oh my gosh, Hillary Clinton is running a child trafficking operation in Washington with John Podesta.’”
Women under pressure from men: “They will be under tremendous pressure from fathers and husbands and boyfriends and male employers not to vote for ‘the girl.’”
James Comey: “The determining factor was the intervention by Comey on October 28...but for that intervention, I would have won.”
Might as well blame something else. She has been a wonderful silent for quite a while while they balance her herdeutetrabenazine and/or valbenazine.
But, let’s remember, Drugs cannot cure mental illnesses. Cases don’t just “find their way to the Supreme Court”.
The legal case involved was filed by officials in Alabama, who sought release from the requirements of the voting rights act, because they were no longer discriminating against anyone in voting. In fact, as I recall, in that area, voter registration and turnout was higher among blacks than among whites. The discrimination of the past was long gone.
But facts don’t matter to the liberals. Hillary and her ilk will always think it’s 1960 in the south, and that blacks need their “protection”.
I would love to know about the 80,000 voters allegedly turned away from voting in Wisconsin. Does Hillary just make stuff up when giving a speech?

Only problem is, the numbers say exactly the opposite: of the 9 states, plus many NC counties, covered by the Voting Rights Act, all have been red since at least 2000*, with no general redward trend in 2016 - in fact, several of them were more narrowly red in 2016 than in previous elections.
* Except VA, which has been blue since 2008, including Shrillary's win.
