Teen busted for opening fire on crowded street, missing little girl with backpack
A 16-year-old boy was busted Friday for opening fire on a Bronx street — narrowly missing a little girl — and officials believe the shooting was part of a gang feud.
Edgar Garcia was taken into custody after some “old-fashioned” “pounding the pavement” investigating led detectives to his location, NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said at an afternoon press conference.
“It wasn’t hard, people were outraged . . . the whole country I think has seen this video of the little girl,” Shea said. “I’m happy to report significant progress on this. We have the shooter in custody as we speak.
“Great work by our Bronx detectives.”
