IIRC the Aborigines of Australia lived there in isolation for 50,000 years and are among the most primitive cultures on Earth. It is not a given that certain groups will advance beyond the stone age.
Sure! Good point. Isolation does breed apathy and sloth IMHO.
And as I was thinking about it more this morning, maybe it’s the women in the tribe that cracked that whip on the men to move the technology up?
Get me that water, we need food and more of it, I’m cold, I’m too hot, why did you only bring this much firewood when you know we needed more etc...
“Look honey - look at how much easier, cleaner, and better this works!”
“Great dear, now get going on building that roof that keeps leaking”.
And so on....
