I suggest men stay away from testosterone supplementation. AndroGel, the largest producer of pharmaceutical testosterone, is in settlement discussions with more than 4000 injured plaintiffs (heart attacks, strokes and DVTs). This after having lost 3 lawsuits, one of which was for $150 million.
I highly recommend the Robert Kraft diet.
Some will take the idea of ‘repair or supplement’ as far as the customer is willing to go. There may be recommendations of cialis, viagra that increase blood flow. For those who prefer more drastic methods in order ‘to be sure’, there are surgical implants that can be activated ‘as needed’.
My personal view if you think something has got to change?; Pills before Drills.
"Don't change that dial, that's a mistake".
They have even got one with some girl using a bedroom voice. Then there is that whole fake warning about accidently "over performing". I sure miss the days when drug companies could not advertise, it was between you and your doctor. Doctors are just Candymen now with very little input.
Yes, but the wrong kinds. Soy products contain phytoestrogen compounds, hence the term ‘soy boys’. Not good if you are suffering from low T. Cut out as much soy as possible, and it’s in everything. Eat high zinc foods, oily fish, red meat and start an exercise program which includes exercises that increase muscle mass.
Affective for radio hosts, advertisers and the manufacturers.
Well said. At 61 years of age my highest reading was tested at 427. As a former college and professional athlete, I tried testosterone therapy. Made amazing gains in the gym over 3 to 4 months and my body composition changed significantly. However the side effects too extreme. Terrible anxiety attacks and emotional issues. Stopped the therapy with NO regrets...God intends for men to age gracefully, lose testosterone so that Grandpa is not an unmanageable patriarch with the libido of a seventeen-year-old.
"Testosterone treatments are like throwing gasoline on a fire, when it comes to prostate cancer. It severely increases the risk."
There's that, and a friend of mine's father had a stroke a heart attack and died after undergoing testosterone treatment theropy.
Did it "work"? Yeah, his libido and energy was great ...until it KILLED HIM!
For sure though. I’m 46 years old and started eating LEAN red meat at least once a day a few years ago. It did wonders for my mood and energy level almost immediately.
Prior, I was a big pasta and cheese eater. I eat lots of pasta still (I am from an Italian family), but with huge meatballs piled on top now.
Also, my cholesterol and blood pressure is perfect.
As for the gun, I have several; Looking for a Winchester 94 to plink with kids currently.
Truly medical low T is a serious condition, if you suffer from it it is a huge quality of life issue... and I am not talking about your libido. Things like, motivation, concentration, mental fog, physical strength and overall fatigue/tired can all be symptoms of low T.
If you truly are suffering from it, you’ll know... and its a life changer. Sadly these clinics largely just sell it as a fountain of youth to anyone with insecurities about aging....
There are risks, once on therapy, you can wind up sterile even once you are off... If you get your levels too high, your blood thickens and you raise your risk for stroke etc... and too much and you can wind up with breasts... as your body will start to convert the excessive testosterone into estrogen, baldness can occur as well... since your body is getting testosterone externally, your testicles will shrink, etc etc...
Sadly most of these clinics are just looking to make a buck, and preying on insecurities.
Find a doctor who uses BioTE hormone pellets. You’ll get a thorough blood work up that focuses on hormones, thyroid, Vitamin D,and a lot more. The results determine which hormones you need and how much. Cost for men is $500-600. You’ll also have a supplement regimen that will probably include iodine, Vitamins A,D, and K.
See post 32, his doctor wasn’t watching his bloodwork.. too much testoerone thickens the blood leading to high blood pressure and stroke/heart attack..
If you truly have medical low T you aren’t taking it because of libido issues...
“Stopped the therapy with NO regrets...God intends for men to age gracefully, lose testosterone so that Grandpa is not an unmanageable patriarch with the libido of a seventeen-year-old.”
Wise words. To everything there is a season.
I google "Robert Kraft diet" and it brought up an article that Robert Kraft was soliciting prostitutes.
I suppose that evidence his diet works but couldn't find anything about the diet itself.
“I have a friend who as a senior was denied a PSA test by Kaiser.....so he went to one of those clinics and got a PDA test for $95.
Test came out a little high (15)
So started taking Saw Palmetto
Got 2 more (free) follow up PSA tests and last one was low single digit (no pun intended)”
This is interesting. My PSA number is rather high for my age, and the doc wants me to get a prostate biopsy. I have no symptoms whatsoever. I may try that supplement going forward.
WHAT KIND OF HORMONES?
Go to the gym 3 times a week and with free weights perform dead lifts, squats, dips, bench, and pull ups. Problem solved. Ive been doing that for years now. Its not hard, just make it part of your routine. In between sets like now I read freerepublic on my iPad. Yes, I am posting this from the gym. Lol
What’s the difference between a Vitamin and a Hormone?
You can’t make a Vita min.
