Every good movie deserves a sequel. Or at least a prequel.
I just got off the phone with Bill Martinez, telling him there would soon be another Jussie story. And here it is. When the home of Nikki Joly burned down in 2017, killing five pets, the FBI investigated it as a hate crime.
After all, the transgender man and gay rights activist had received threats after having a banner year in this conservative town.
In the prior six months, he helped open the city’s first gay community center, organized the first gay festival and, after 18 years of failed attempts, helped lead a bruising battle for an ordinance that prohibits discrimination against gays.
For his efforts, a local paper named him the Citizen of the Year.
Authorities later determined the fire was intentionally set, but the person they arrested came as a shock to both supporters and opponents of the gay rights movement. It was the citizen of the year — Nikki Joly.

When I said 'them' I was thinking 'fake hate crimes'... To excuse hate crimes as mental illness is to overlook the damage they're doing to the country. As far as the people are concerned - yes, hopefully they can be helped after (or while) they're paying their debt to society.
Smollett will likely get 'community service' and if the judge is smart is will be done helping Republicans hand out flyers while wearing a MAGA hat. He might discover that REAL hate is directed at Trump supporters... not the fake stuff that fuels liberal pity parties that Smollett is use to.

And they want to put these mental deformities into our armed forces? Only if the normal soldiers aim their weapons at them and fire.

Listmembers, this is the most awful story which I have ever added to the fake hate crimes list, because of the deaths of those dogs. Cruelty to animals is the lowest of crimes.
I hope that serious charges are laid.

I read it was 2 Dogs & 3 Cats. Why couldn’t she/he(?) just leave a door open so they at least would have had a chance to escape. Beyond sick.
