It was a chilly winter night in Greenville, South Carolina and Emerson and Maya were on Girl Scout duty selling cookies outside a store.
At one point, a man approached the stand and bought seven boxes of cookies worth $40, and told them to keep the change, according to cookie manager Kayla Dillard.
Then, he went back to the table and said: Pack up all of your cookies. Im taking them all so yall can get out of this cold, Dillard said in a Facebook post. He spent $540 on cookies, she said.

Bet You were such an inspiration to those children
Encounters like yours are used to teach the girls about dealing with adults
Just probably not what you intended
No never did
We are a nonprofit, we dont fund other nonprofits though we are often all at the same forums featuring multiple orgs
But hey, if you paid taxes...you funded PP
Its been over 60 years for me and I still remember selling cookies
Walked miles of country roads with my dog pulling a wagon
My DD remembers selling cookies in the snow
We had to man that booth and get them sold, we only get about 8 weekends and troops all divide and share booth times
Ours , it just happened to snow
Tough situations do more than create memories, they build character that you sucked it up and did what needed to be done
that was nice of him. I always try to buy cookies.
Wrongo. Sorry
Just for instance, check the research of Mary Rice Hasson, the mother of seven, is a Fellow in Catholic Studies at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, Washington, D.C. She blogs at wordsfromcana.
Considering not paying taxes versus not paying for Girl Scouts is quite different
I fight the necessity to pay via taxes by voting and by being informed
Trump just defunded PP. I make it my business to know
Ditto GSA whom I would never give a dime if not for just the way they use girls to line up with their mothers and plant themselves in the most obnoxious selling model known to capitalism in my view
South Carolina. How cold could it be?
Lighten up some.
34 degrees. Half the kids in the country used to play outside all day at that temp. In a lot of northern places, kids skating or playing hockey still do.
No...I said it to the adult....but letting the children remain ignorant...is a travesty. These aren’t 2 year olds.
Iffa', woulda', coulda', shoulda' but you didn't.
Always a Monday morning quarterback.
Hopefully this taught the girls a life lesson to help someone in the future.the whole community will benefit once word of mouth of this good deed is spread.try to encourage the positive point of his generosity.
A black lady dressed like a bum used to work the streets of Los Angeles, just outside of Beverly Hills or Trousdale Estates.
Someone got suspicious & watched her break down her signs & chair, and FOLLOWED her to where her car was parked-—
A MERCEDES BENZ.......
I don’t hand out a penny.
Totally agree...very bad lesson to teach the girls. Having them brave the cold, suffer a bit and persevere for a (what was once) a good cause is the best lesson of all. He taught the girls that Sugar Daddy will come along and save you. Not the way to raise hardy stock.
Well said. Thank you.
But in actuality, local troops are run by local volunteers and supported with camps and programs by Councils
Local GS have about as much to do with WAGGGS as your town govt has to do with the United Nations
to which you belong by virtue of US membership in the UN
I dont have a choice with my taxes.
I do with buying Girl Scout cookies and so do you by supporting them regardless.
It must suck to be you.......sheesh!
You do not even know that no cookie money goes to National Organization
It goes to the bakers, the Councils and the troops
Somehow I doubt you want to change your mind anyway
GS is not for you but it is sure for me and the girls I help
The typical girl scout uniform of short sleeved shirt and skirt without the non approved jacket should have been the proper attire. That would have taught them how to be really strong!
Idiots like you give this site a bad name......
