Reading through the list of Oscar winners, I realize that I have not watched a single one of these movies. Not one. Not only not the winners, but none of the nominees. Am I alone in this?
Haven’t watched a movie in over thirty years. If I want gratuitous sex and violence I’ll read the paper.
“I just watched LA Confidential for the first time. Other than seeing too many womens naked breasts, it was a very good movie.”
There is no such thing as seeing too many women’s naked breasts.
;^)
No...... I watch reruns of Gunsmoke and the old westerns....made before the feminization of the USA....
I saw that stupid Black Panther on a plane flight. One of the dumbest movies ever and made no sense at all. A super high tech society that is tribal and uses a physical battle to choose their chief? Really?
I think that is the only of the movies I saw. I haven’t been to the movies in well over 10 years.
Nothing in this crop that makes me even want to bother putting it on my Netflix list
Saw hacksaw ridge, deepwater horizon and kings speech all in tv. Great films.
Oscar Who?
I think the traditional 2 hour Hollywood style “movie” is become less and less the focus for cinema. One of the great things about the pay tv series (HBO, Netflix, etc.) is that many of their series are just 8 to 12 hour movies chopped into 1 hour segments. Indeed, “Game of Thrones” is really an 80 hour movie chopped into 1 hour segments. This allows the creators to develop much more intricate, complex and interesting plot lines and stories as well as devote much more time to developing characters that are interesting, that you care about. It’s pretty rare that I even bother to watch a standard 2 hour “movie” anymore and even rarer when I actually finish one I’ve started.
I’m at the point where I no longer even look at the list because I already know I don’t care to watch degenerate Leftist garbage, and that’s all Hollywood makes anymore.
You are not alone.
Well, that is true, but when it is just gratuitous, it detracts from the movie, at least for me.
You’ve heard the phrase, “as useless as tits on a boar”?
My version, “As useless as tits on a women who is not my wife.”
From the nominees list, I saw Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, Spider-Verse, and Infinity War. So I guess I saw several, I enjoyed each one. Only 2 would I consider Oscar Worthy, however (Rhapsody and Spider-Verse).
It never hurts to revisit The Classics! I still haven’t seen some of these movies, but I will!

Even better, I wasn’t aware the Oscars were on.
Yes, all the good movies on the lists are from years ago.
I don’t think we went to any moves in the past year (at least). I would probably not even recognize 90% of those who were the celebs at the Oscars. So, don’t think you are all alone...
So, you’re into LESBIANS are you?
Nope the only recent movie we’ve watched is ‘A Star is Born’. Good music, decent storyline, good acting, especially surprised by Lady Gaga’s acting, but the language was so foul it almost made it unwatchable. In one bathroom scene the F word was repeated over ten times in probably 30-40 seconds of film. Totally uncalled for and was common throughout the movie. I’m not a prude, and use salty language more than I should, but this was over the top and ruined an otherwise decent movie.
Feel soo much better after cutting the cable and stopping supporting Hollywood trash.
You are not alone, FRiend. LOL!
