Many thanks for your long reply. You know that one day in Los Angeles Chris Hillman ran into Graham Parsons on a line at the bank... And this started Graham Parsons in his brief but seminal career in the Byrds

If I ran into any of the people you mention. The ones I would like to compliment would be Steve Winwood, Chris Hillman, John Sebastian who had that tune Nashville Cats with the loving Spoonful.

I agree the new hipster country music is mostly discardable.
But I like this from not too long ago.

I thought the movie Country Strong was very good too. You (anyone) can recite all its negatives but it had a good current running through it. Plus had some young stars coming up in it. And Gwyneth Paltrow did not mess it up.

McGuinn and Hillman were the Byrds and were on tour last year. Graham Parsons too but for a brief time.

You have definitely gotten around. Chris Hillman is the one I would want to meet. Winwood too.
