Peter Framptom certainly improved his craft with age. The guy can put down some mad licks. Always enjoy watching and listening to him. Great career.

Excellent live album.

Indeed! I've probably worn out a half-dozen copies of this album since I first heard it when it was originally released. "I Walk On Gilded Splinters/Leaving Trunk" has got to be the most superb rock jam ever caught on tape. RIP Steve Marriot!

I caught a Frampton performance at the Milwaukee Summerfest in 2010. He opened with "Four Day Creep" and I nearly wept.

What about the jam in “I Wonder” from the Smokin’ album. Also found an acoustic version of “For Your Love”. Marriott in rare form: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W0gkMzies2U

As in 30 days in the hole by Steve Marriott

I think Frampton had left Humble Pie when that song came out.

I caught Glenn's show last fall. WOW...he was spectacular. I am not familiar with that DP catalog but the songs were superb.

"Burn" is an awesome song, frankly it's probably the only non-Gillan sung DP song I like.

Oh, absolutely!

I'll see your "I Wonder" with C'mon Everybody and Sweet Peace and Time from "Smokin'" and I'll raise you Up Your Sleeve and Road Runner from "Eat It!"

Humble Pie was a great rock and roll band. Marriott had one of the best blues voices in the business.

Frampton was sorta a neighbor once for me here in Nashville ....he lived off woodmont blvd.....but even though Comes Alive ruled summer 1976.....my first notion of the tiny guitar player was this....bonfires and beer music

I’ve loathed Frampton’s music since the first time I heard it.

I was aware of Glenn Hughes when he was with “Trapeze” and the song, “Black Cloud”.

You are probably right on this. Going by memory you are correct. Was Steve Marriott raw on 30 Days or what? And that is how he died.

Every musician eventually gravitates to Nashville for a session or two or forever. Like Bob Dylan did (Blond on Blond) which created a Jew-Redneck country picker cultural dissonance. Including Steve Winwood who you might see gliding by on a 10-speed on any given day. Who knows.

Steve and Eugenia lived up the hill from me on Laurel ridge

Wifey Annette used to chat with them walking..Steve is short....
They have had a long good marriage apparently
Their kids did school in the Cotswolds and summered here near her family

He was quite approachable...

Folks here except tourists leave them ...celebs...alone

Wifey is friendly with with LeAnne Womack and other girls from yoga and instructing ...Nicole Kidman etc

Bret Michaels hit on wifey a few years back at our local date night joint....my bartender buddy was like she’s a married mom....his reply was all the better..lol
Over the years I’ve found myself in line standing next to John Sebastian, Chris Hillman, JD Souther, emmy lou, Faith hill, and so on

I dated and was engaged to Waylon’s biz manager years ago and knew Waylon which frankly was an honor....he was great to my dying father..

He and Jesse and he was very cool with my daughters....they will always have that memory

I enjoyed getting him to recount how he won the battle of music row...he did it too....he was a cool dude but did not suffer fools gladly

He was the real outlaw ...the rest sailed in his wake

I’ve got a lot of kids...

We knows a lot folks in the biz.....Brad Paisleys pilot

Songwriters and producers kids

I’ll tell you one thing Dennis sadly

Young hipsters are taking over the record companies and talent promotion and songwriting here and it’s gone Left in a hurry

Look at Florida Georgia line and Casey Musgraves and Margo Price

And homosexuals have come in large way

I’ve only ever liked original authentic country and outlaw style or Texas based country

Today it’s mostly tailgate music

The Dixie Chicks woulda survived today..

Americana music is now mainstream country.....it used to be the refuge for liberal country artists
