Please... Why is this happening?

Could someone please explain why this issue is happening when I insert an image or GIF into a post. I did indeed have paragraphs all set up but when I embed it breaks up the wrapping and does this. I am using Firefox, Is it this site not reading the HTML correctly or my stuff? I have never had this problem with Firefox before... Only happens here on this site.

I Would like to fix this and it might be messing with others. Be nice to know wht's up here. It only happens if I insert a link. Until I do it wraps correctly.Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, but I still don’t understand what you did. I used quotation marks around the p and got this:

<”p”>

Sadly, those aren’t usually the ones writing vanities.

With the attitude against self generated content around here, is it any wonder?

The better writers see this, and don't bother.

You see the problem?

Yep, no paragraph breaks........I hate when that happens, don't you?

Good catch. :)

I have noticed this too. But some of the image problems may be the source. Some sources are getting pretty good at not letting them display on other sites or if you have script blocking on your browser.

In a way this is a good thing though. This means there may be stuff in that file we really don’t want anyways. This is when you start a community generated list of sites to be boycotted. They don’t want the referrals? Don’t give them any hits then.

Can’t have your cake and eat it too if you are going to insist on all proprietary content. You can’t shut off all your sharable content and then still expect referral hits. Referral hits from what? A blank frame?

Heh. Maybe it’s just me, but I come here primarily to catch up on the news and read comments about articles. People using FR as their blog need to avail themselves occasionally of an unexpressed thought.

But is it not a community? a Tribe? a Clan? If not how can we ever think we can prevail over those who do tribe up on the other side of the river?

Also, quite a few images are no longer displaying at all.

I have the same problem. There is nothing different in the source code, but some images will not render on the forum.

I’m running a Mozilla browser, SeaMonkey. When I load up the problem page in my Chrome browser, they display. It has to be something in the browser, but I can’t figure what.

The images probably contain scripts. And you are probably blocking scripts. I have the same problem when I try to load linked images from other sites or advertisements with hidden scripts and API’s in my websites.

As do we all, but why restrict the richness of content here by condemning and pushing back against self generated content?

Take Freeper Bray, for instance. He writes a weekly column that he posts here. It's primarily his synopsis and analysis of the prior week's events, and it's good. A lot of people look forward to it every Saturday.

We've also got PJ-Media, the Trump Train gang, Kartographer, and several others who regularly post self generated content, much of it informative and/or entertaining. Should we insist that those folks withdraw their contributions to the site? I should hope not.

Lastly, there's the power of choice. No one's compelling us to read content we're not interested in.

The problem is not here at the FR. The source code here is going to read good to go. The problem is the source link and what this script is presented with from their end when it is rendered here. And what sucks is they can change that on the other end and make it even worse. Ads used to do this to me all the time. Start off safe and then hit me with a script a couple days later that would break the whole site.

I’m blocking scripts on my browser and having the same problem. Only about two out of four images are rendering for me. But I am SAFE! lol

We really should have a list on here to add these sources to and stop giving them any clicks at all.

Yes, I've noticed that, which is one reason I always proofread my posts before submitting - especially images.

Oftentimes the image won't display, so I go track down a copy that isn't blocked. It can be a chore sometimes.
