Like I said, “When the post detects HTML, it treats your entire post as HTML”. HTML doesn’t just naturally wrap text like you want. There are ways, but the easiest is to just put the breaks where you want them.

Your html suxs.

Try using

<
p
>

when you want a white space between on paragraph and the next

keep you paragraphs short, else it becomes hard to read on screen.
also use

<
br
>

to place one line directly above another (a sub header) - example

TOFU For Breakfast
This morning’s TOFU was mom’s recipe ... etc

When using images:

use the p here
This is a picture of me at 5 (use the br)
image html here

Know whats funny? Everyone but you had absolutely no problem understanding what I explained. You saw... IT”S PERSONAL!!! GET EM !!! and never even took the time to actually read the thread. On top of that you have absolutely no clue what the true definition of “vanity” is... But don’t feel bad... Not many here actually do.

Thank you... Just having trouble with why it’s not wrapping it correctly. I will have to go back to old school. :)

< br>

What command do you use to properly display HTML (without spaces) in a comment? I've often wondered how folks do that.

I keep an old copy of the SeaMonkey browser suite around just to set up the code for putting a picture in a post.

I was using "& + lt;" and "& + gt;". Just remove " + " and you get < >.

I guess I should’ve added, lt=less_than, gt=greater_than.

Honestly... Modern scripts do not require any extra effort or tools like this. They respect how you laid it out in your draft very accurately and post it respectively But I can’t blame this script yet... It could be my stuff not interacting with it correctly. But it is the first time I have run across this issue in a long time.

No, I used the HTML for paragraph. “< p >” without the spaces of course between < the P and >.

Thank you. I will have to go old school HTML on here then. Haven’t had to worry about that in quite awhile. :)

Height without width specified would be interesting.

Inputting height or width produces the same result. You only need one of those parameters to resize a picture.

No, and neither do you. Otherwise, you would have stated what the problem is. 8>)

...something that has been bothering me about the “vanity NAZI’s” around here. Does anyone actually have a clue what the definition of VANITY truly is?

Free Republic is the only public forum I know of, where user generated content is frowned upon. Why this is, is peculiar to this community, as I've never seen it anywhere else.

The idea that only content from MSM reporters is worthy of being posted here, is offensive to me. This place is chockablock with talented writers who can run rings around the average MSM droid.

I am having this same problem with what I see too. This is the only community where being personal is taboo. Almost like “we don’t want to be too friendly with you”, “never become a family” “just post a news link in our favor so we have fodder for sarcastic smart ass comments and get off”. lol

And it’s not consistent and predictable either.

It's pretty unusual to experience any difficulties with posting in HTML on this site. Whenever I've had trouble in the past, it has always turned out to be something I'm doing (or not doing) with the code.

That said, something does appear to have changed with the way FR displays pages embedded with HTML. In the last couple of months I've noticed that the software isn't automatically wrapping longish URLs as it normally does.

Instead of breaking a long URL into chunks so that it fits the page, FR is shrinking the whole page to fit the URL. It's doing the same thing with oversized images. Also, quite a few images are no longer displaying at all.

Sadly, those aren’t usually the ones writing vanities.

On second thought I might know why... It is a good “old boy’s club” with about 7 old time members who don’t want to hear anything “personal” about anyone one else. But know what? that doesn’t pay the bills and I hope those 7 realize the truth of this.
