Not to flame but I found him refreshingly honest. Rush seems to be realizing that nearly everything he has believed in over the past 40 years is flawed. He opened his show by acknowledging that illegal immigration has changed the demographics of America and that this will be the demise of the GOP. He continued that both parties have waved in the hordes. Frankly I’ve waited decades for him to see the light.
That doesn’t sound ‘defeatist’, to me. That sounds REALISTIC.
Sometimes the truth hurts, but we have a bitter pill (several!) to swallow in understanding where we are, how we got here, and....if possible, how to fix.
I stopped listening to Rush a few years ago when it sounded (to me) like he was giving the enemy ammo....talking points, ways to outsmart GOP, etc., and when he was on the NeverTrump train.
From what I’ve read about him, recently, he seems to have climbed aboard the Trump MAGA train.
My biggest complaint about Rush, now, is that he never seems to have or want to be part of the solution. :(

Didn’t hear Rush, Haven’t listened to him much since the primaries. Had previously listened to him from when Kiki De La Garza was the call screener. I have all his books/videos, I have even been to a “Rush to Excellence” tour event and been a caller on the radio show twice.
If what you say is true, (I have no reason to doubt you) GREAT! The sleeping conservative has awakened!
Too late for me. Rush is one notch above Levin in the Trump conversion club. While Rush was never as bad as Levin, he did not originally support Trump. I believe his “handlers” told him not to and he acquiesced. (Caved).
Rush ALWAYS said (many, many times) that you can’t do anything about the main stream media, so stop whining about it or something to that affect.

The MEDIA is the NUMBER ONE problem in the whole country! How could he just dismiss it?

I have been listening to Rush from the beginning. One of my biggest issues with him is that, contrary to the way he often describes himself, he IS defeatist.
I have to agree with you.
Personally, I think there is a counter coup of Trumpists going on inside the government - and I know from my years working for the NSA there are lots of Patriots inside that organization - and if - as QANON maintains - a group of NSA high level Patriots could have the means and access to literally read or listen to any electronic transmission anywhere in the world.
This would be tantamount to giving Trump the same access to enemy plans that ULTRA gave Churchill and Roosevelt to AXIS plans in the Second World War.
Speaking of WW II - think of the D-Day deception played on the Nazis prior to the landings in Normandy. The Allies created an entire ghost army in England under the command of George Patton!
So I think a key mission of QANON is this type of deception against the Deep State. Think about it. No Republican politician has survived the Deep State propaganda assault as well as Donald Trump.I believe one important factor in Trump’s political survival is the storm screen puffed up by QANON in the past year.
I think Trump knows he must destroy the Deep State as a viable organization - its is an existential threat to the Republic and his family - and one way of doing this is by DECEPTION.
It’s no mistake “The Art of War” is Trump’s favorite book.....and this is WAR.
As many of us have said for decades, it's time for Limbaugh to get involved in Republican primary races.
While infuriating, he has steadfastly refused to endorse candidates during primaries. That must change in 2020.
I understand the motivation to protect a "brand" by not endorsing a candidate who may turn out to make a big gaffe, or lose in some way that taints those who endorsed him, but Limbaugh is way past that in his career.
In Limbaugh's twilight, it's finally time for him to get off the sidelines and start working with others to nationalize Republican primaries. He can't wait for a Ryan or McConnell to do it, HE has to do it.
Limbaugh's role must be to promote a national candidate slate aligned with the purpose of restoring a nation of laws with the consent of the governed, to get in the faces of incumbents on the air, to endorse primary opponents who will support the Trump agenda, and to promote common message rallies in every major city in every state.
It's time for the big man to bigfoot the elections. If Democrats think that Putin can influence our elections, imagine how much more Rush Limbaugh can influence our elections!

There is no secret plan. There is no Deep State Purge. I repented and recanted of that over a year ago when the IG report came out and stupid Jeff Sessions and wriggly Wray sat there and acted like nothing was wrong.
It’s almost March 2019 and NOT ONE SINGLE DEEP STATER has been indicted. Yes, McCabre may get indicted for lying to Congress. Big whoop. None is facing any charges for conspiracy or treason or sedition.
As for Rush, he has been gravitating downward a little. I believe (could be wrong cuz I don’t know him) that he really thought the Bushes were good people (as did I at one point) and, like Trump, that deep down most of these people love America. (I think both of us now know better).
Some of the republicans the did not run for re-election were given the opportunity to bow out gracefully in advance during 2018. Trump may well trampel those who broke laws as did the Obama Admin - it would be a nice send off to the DNC giving them their Nixon-moment as they slide from major political party to third world communist stooges status.
Relax. Reason to be angry exists.
Defeatist? I heard part of his show yesterday and he was fairly negative in his analysis regarding the forces targeting Trump. So there may have been some defeatist emotion in the broadcast.
We are human. Not machines.

Sorry, I keep hearing about QANON, “Trust the Plan”, 1,000s of indictments, military tribunals (they’ve begun, don’t ya know?), Guantanamo, Sessions and Huber working behind the scenes (Sessions is supporting the military tribunals?) and the best of all, Mueller is actually working on the president’s behalf “hunting the witch (Hillary).”
I would love to believe that any of the above is true, but there isn’t one single indication that ANY of it is true. Trump certainly isn’t acting like it...
Agreed. FR puts me ahead of the talk and news shows as well as most of the current affairs web sites. I learned the Rush mantra years ago and still use it daily. While not a Q follower I keep the link. Everything matters.
I got flamed by a FReeper on yesterday’s Limbaugh thread for making the same observation. Basically he said that Comey, McCabe and Co. were going to get away scot free on the attempted coup, and that open borders were going to turn the country into California in a political sense.
Rush always said he’d tell us when it was time to panic, and it sounded to me like he was starting to panic.
I don’t disagree with him on that but was peeved at his sudden conversion on immigration.

o Yeah it was a drag listening to him over the last few weeks. He couldn’t figure out if AOC was going to destroy us using the scumbags in mom’s basement,or she was an idiot who be ignored. Anyway I decided he was boring and shut him off.
We have had a steady parade of revelations of conspiracy, treason, sedition, perjury and more on the part of very senior government officials for over two years. Yes, people have been fired and resigned, but not one single indictment or arrest - not one. DOJ, the FBI and now NSA and ODNI are refusing perfectly legal and proper presidential directives to release and/or downgrade information and who’s been fired...? No one.
Doe anyone - ANYONE - in this administration realize that hiding criminal information behind the cover of national security classification guidelines is, in and of itself, a felony? So why the eight-month delay in “reviewing” FISA affidavits based on fictional, politically-motivated information? (That’s a rhetorical question...)
The problem isn’t Rush. I too get livid while hearing the constant reminder of how bad things have become. Right now the problem seems to me to be that Trump has not yet fired all the ones that need to be fired and has not seen to the prosecution of those that need to be prosecuted. I know it seems Sessions stuck it to us all but Trump is president. Make it count! Grateful for the things he has accomplished but all is in vain if the Democrat and Obama holdovers are not cleared out and rule of law re-energized. Republican house and senate accomplished little that will be long lasting. Best thing so far is court appointments that have made it through. Please let’s have 2 more on the big court. Here is to hope.
You're so right. I used to cringe when he said that. DJT has effectively taken the mask off the enemy and exposed their agenda for all to see. It seems to be scaring Rush to see the unvarnished hate that the socialists have toward us. Rush is good at what he does, but all he does is to discuss America's problems within the scope of Republicans v Democrats. Lately, and yesterday in particular, he is seeing our problems more in the light of raw ideology; we're proponents of individual freedom and we're in a fight with totalitarianism. I often wished Rush had a better grasp of history. If he did he would have known the horrors of communism and what is creeping toward us.
I intentionally ignored the OPs mention of Q. All one has to do is read the 1000s of child-like posts on those threads to realize they have rendered themselves useless to us going forward.

I was shocked he had never heard the term Arkanside either. One of his crew tried to tell him and he still did not get it. Oh well.....
