If this is true, why does a British paper have the scoop? And why a grand jury? Do they call a grand jury for every routine crime? Or is the grand jury just a way of getting him off the hook?

All criminal accusations are supposed to go through a Grand Jury.

It is our first check on overzealous prosecutors.

The reason a british tabloid picked it up is because they’re too chickenshit to report on their own muslim crime wave and acid attacks. Going after the yanks, depicting President Trump in the worst possible light, drooling over their dysfunctional royals, and popping pimples is what they do best.

For one thing, a Grand Jury is supposed to be secret...so Smollett is protected from the public eye and can say whatever he wants to about his “crime” with no repudiation from the authorities available to contradict him.

A Grand Jury gets the cops off the hook.
