For one thing, a Grand Jury is supposed to be secret...so Smollett is protected from the public eye and can say whatever he wants to about his “crime” with no repudiation from the authorities available to contradict him.
Huh? Smollett's lawyer will set him on fire before he lets him go near a grand jury.
