Madison and Bryant were in separate vehicles and tried to block the 16-year-old driver of Bryant’s stolen vehicle as he stopped at an intersection. The teen tried to flee, backed up and hit one of the brother’s vehicles.

That said, probably not a good idea to shoot the sob. If the had simply beat him to a pulp, all would be OK. But he might have escaped with their beloved Sub.
I hope the thief didn't bleed inside the Suburban, might be hard to clean.
We don’t have to worry about this thug (I am not sure if the criminal is black, white, Latino, Asian, etc., still a thug) becoming a career criminal.
But he was turning his life around! This was going to be his last grand theft auto before going to Harvard.
When a car thief rams his car into a police cruiser the police are allowed to shoot the driver. Why are these guys treated differently? The thief attempted to kill the driver of the car he rammed.
Not sure how this will play out where it occurred but last time I checked, if the perp (that probably needs shooting) is running away, best not shoot. Of course circumstances would dictate the appropriate response. Such as, was he steering towards one of the brothers?

Different rules apply depending on whether you are democrat, police, politician etc...even though the underlying law is the same. Nice country we’ve got here.
The idiot 16 year old was ramming the cars the brothers were in with the Suburban he stole. He was using the vehicle in a way that made it every bit as deadly as a firearm. A case can be made that this was self defense. No one would blink an eye if the police shot a cornered criminal in the head who was trying to use his vehicle as a weapon to ram their cars. This actually seems to happen fairly frequently.

Try telling a jury you had to make a split second decision and see how far that goes. If you represent the government it works; if not, jail time.
Yeah, but based on the last few years of cops shooting people in cars who “were in fear for their lives “ and have gotten away with it why should they not think they’ll get away with it?
Sounds like all three are brothers.

a. The perp had a legal firearm with a carry permit and fired in self defense.
b. The perp just bought the firearm from a licensed dealer and passed the FBI background check.
c. The perp was a convicted felon and was not authorized to have firearms but that is ok if used in self defense.
d. The firearm was stolen the night before and used in multiple crimes but that is also ok if used in self defense.
e. The firearm shot the victim by itself and should be banned.
