You are not wrong. The gender specific hi-five was over the top too.
I suggest you wean yourself off of alphabet news. I’ll probably never see your VW advertisement other than your reveal.
They aren’t moving. Everything is being sold to cover the costs of keeping a VW running.
I was ready to be insulted by that comment, since I bought a Jetta. But I realized you are probably right.
So why did I (60 year old male) buy a Jetta?
I commute 100 miles per day. 40 mpg is great. And based on the looks of most cars today - the classic old school look of the Jetta is far nicer than a Mazda 3, Corolla, Civic and so forth.
And it was less expensive.
Jettas are fine vehicles, engineered to handle autobahns and among the roomiest in the compact class.
I believe VW offered very affordable leases attractive to working women who didn’t want to pay up for luxury brands but wanted some European cachet.
Judging from what I’ve seen the past decade, young guys seem to prefer the Golf over the Jetta.
Many auto enthusiasts rate the Golf GTI as the best hot hatchback ever. In terms of price and performance.
As a stand alone ad...not too bad.
If you spend more attention to your own VR world and/or personal entertainment instead of giving that attention to your girlfriend/wife then you're going to be alone.
Women need attention. That's just a fact of life men have to know if they want to keep them.
Or maybe there was a more subtle message after all.
Maybe he successfully got out of a bad relationship
and she wasn't smart enough to catch on to how he went about it.
She simply blames him instead of seeing the breakup as being her fault.
That’s very true. I had a ‘63 that made it through a flooded underpass with water up to the windows. At times, the wheels left the pavement and we floated. We drove past a couple sitting on the hood of their Mustang, giving them a gentle rocking in our wake as we went by.
I agree with what you say about advertising making men look stupid, but what's wrong with showing interracial couples.
And before anyone asks, yes, I've seen advertisements with interracial couples where the man was white and was not an idiot.
I don’t think inter-racial mixing is a good idea. I can remember when Ann Landers thought the same thing. When I was young almost everyone thought the same.
Obviously that has changed. It didn’t just happen. It was made to happen.
Nobody “made” anybody date outside of their race. On the contrary, it was people dating outside of their race who faced the pressure to stop. I’m surprised anyone still feels this way.
That is not what I said.
Constant repetition such as these ads are intended to change what people think. They work too.
If that’s what you meant by “It was made to happen.” then I would still disagree. If anything, advertising is finally reflecting what’s been happening at a growing rate for decades.
You are probably a good person and believe you are right.
If you do not realize that the media is creating public opinion then you do not know why such an odious person as Obama was elected and reelected. Or Hillary was nearly.
50 years ago he could never have been elected. Not because he is Black but because he is openly an evil person. Evil people were in fact elected but only because they were able to hide their real intentions.
I thought Subaru had a lock on lesbos?
I agree on how the MSM ran interference for Obama and Hillary, but I don’t see where that has anything to do with advertising featuring interracial couples.
Does Pavlov mean anything to you?
“I dont think inter-racial mixing is a good idea.”

Oh,really?
My son,a Caucasian, has been married to an Asian for almost 25 years.
A great marriage.
.
If I get your reference, then wouldn’t advertising with couples of the same race also be seen as conditioning people to date within their race for the reasons you gave, and wouldn’t that in effect be racist?
