Just hours after apologizing for making comments deemed anti-Semitic, Rep. Ilhan Omar retweeted a thread defending her claim that campaign contributions from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee buy support for the group’s positions.
Ms. Omar praised the writer, Ady Barkan, who told of being a staffer on a long-shot congressional campaign in 2006 when the candidate agreed to take stances on two issues in exchange for a maximum contribution from AIPAC. “Your courage can’t be matched. I am often in tears thinking about how you won’t be with us in this fight and how I am going to miss your presence and courage. In solidarity my friend, in solidarity,” Ms. Omar wrote to Ady Barkan.

For the most part, I think you’re spot on, but I’ll never under estimate the Dem machine. Whether through fraud or other means, they’ll figure out a way to replace them if they keep this up. I see three possibilities.
It's a given that Congresswoman Omar is a Jewhater, she's proved herself.
She and Ady may simplly be ignorant. A common problem for bigots. AIPAC is not a PAC. AIPAC does not have a PAC. So they cannot make contributions. Thus the accusation is a fabrication. Partly. AIPAC does not rate candidates like the NRA. However that doesn't mean they don't educate on positions, making it possible for a potential donor, likely one of them Jews, to make a decision candidates to donate to and/or support. So Ilian and Ady may simply be talking about Jew donations, which are legal. Don't want no Jew donations in the system, as one might determine from looking at Arab and Muslim states, don't want no Jews at all. Christians, Hindus and other assorted infidels not far behind Jews. And Jews not only vote at a higher rate than most groups, they also donate at a higher rate. To political candidates and charities. And they're thought to provide about 25% of the contributions, still legal for Jews, to Republican candidates and the GOP. That's a really bad thing. And please, don't some Freeper go and tell me they are thought to account for about 50% of contributions to Dems. That's a good thing.
AIPAC and Jews are a fun thing to criticize. Despite being aware of apparent criminal activity on the part of AIPAC, she apparently hasn't contacted the authorities. She may think it's a good thing to have them around as a whipping boy. For example, if palestinians couldn't complain about Israel and Jews incessantly, they might have to explain their own actions and accomplishments. So let AIPAC break the law.
She may just hate lobbyists and interest groups. She'd never take money from any of them. She outraised her Republican opponent, Jennifer L Zielinski a pro Israel Christian, 50 to 1 without them.

AIPAC does lobby Congress, one of 6 or 7 thousand lobbying groups. They spend about $3.5 million a year on lobbying. And as Ilian "knows", she's no Ben Franklin, they must be at the top of the list, as anyone can easily find out

Unfortunately, like most bigots, the Congresswoman has a particular worldview, and distorts facts to fit it. She simply hasn't learned who she can spew her hatred to.
And yes, AIPAC is a successful lobby. A lot of that comes from the fact that they're preaching to the choir, historically most Americans of both parties have supported Israel. Making their job easier than, for example, convincing Americans that near birth abortions and post birth fatal neglect by professionals is a good thing.

In comparison, McCarthy received just $33,200 from pro-Israel groups in the midterms.
Four of the top 5 recipients of contributions from pro-Israel groups are Democrats. The largest contributor, JStreet. Ilhan is killing the golden goose.
