I’m a fly fisherman, I study the local mayfly hatches intently.
There are 9 different hatches throughout the summer on the lower Saginaw (Tittabawassee) River. Adult mayflies range in size from a dime to a quarter. They don’t fill the air like the old days (60s/70s) but, they can be bothersome if you are near the river on hatch night.
In between hatches, I drag a plastic hellgrammite on the bottom.

I lived for 18 years in a house which was on the bank of the Tittabawassee, in Homer Township, right at the corner of its confluence with Carl Creek. Caught a lot of carp and white sucker in the spring where the creek entered the river. Never did any fly fishing on the river, but did a lot of spoon and worm-and-bobber bank fishing ...
In all of that time, I never heard it called the "Lower Saginaw River".
Heck, my elementary school was named "Chippawassee" because of the two river confluence of the Chippewa and Tittabawassee near downtown Midland.

(I am not doing any fishing currently...Here you generally do it from a boat, and we know what happens to your firearms whenever a Freeper fishs in the middle of a lake!!)
That's quite a hashtag to use in a message immediately following a message about Monica Lewinsky.
