full title: California police discover secret shooting range, weapons and thousands of rounds of ammo hidden underneath gangster's home
California authorities stumbled upon a secret underground shooting range hidden beneath the home of a known gang member. Officers with the Fontana Police Department's gang unit came across the hideaway while executing a search warrant at the home on Thursday night. 'While searching the house a man hole was located that led to an underground hiding area and an additional underground area that was being used as a shooting range,' the department said in a press release. Inside the range they found thousands of...

No need to hesitate or apologize. I am certain their people assigned to read this blog agree with you completely.
The department heads may take great pride in having a bigger stash than their sibling departments. Of course they get to acquire .50 caliber and other goodies, which are difficult to afford on a typical civilian budget.
Those pesky Lutherans at it again?
What California needs is a good Sunday covered dish lunch on the grounds. With a little softball & a potato sack race or two.
/s. sadly..
I can’t believe the article. A gangbanger doing all that work? Nah.
They located a man hole?
Isn’t that one of those sexist terms we aren’t supposed to use anymore? Just saying.....
Hmmm. Known gang member, but they don’t say whether the firearms were legal or not and oh yeah, known gang member.
A little more info would be nice before condemning the raid.
If the weapons were illegal, then that takes a lot away from the notion being pushed that gang members and criminals legally purchase their weapons.
That’s pretty good ingenuity. Imagine no range fees or driving somewhere to shoot. I presume there was ventilation to address lead and smoke issues.
Fontana is in east L.A., and is predominantly Mexican in population. And I’m surprised they didn’t have the stash booby trapped with HE. I’d say the cops got lucky on this one. A lot of them could have died.

While Fontana is home to the Auto Club Speedway it is also home to a shitload of gangbangers.

The blog is written in London, England. They have a different way of thinking. (Seldom sensible)

And this is big news why???
Well we know for sure, it isn’t a White Supremacist gang.
It wouldn’t be much news if it was underneath the home of a law-abiding citizen type. It’s bigger news when it’s a hideout under the house of someone with active warrants. And it could be a wild guess that some 10 and 11yo’d recruits got some gang training down there, but it’s likely. Seems soundproof-ish.
I’m all for strong law enforcement.
Their bravado rhetoric just hit me as corny. Sounds like lines from Robo Cop.
Damn! I hope they dont come to my house LOL!
I walk across the road and up the slope about 500 ft. and shoot towards the cliffs. To be safe.
Kind of what I’m thinking, with 32 square miles of ranch anywhere out side is part of a range. Oh and I’ve probably got close to a thousand rounds of ammo just in my truck.
I had a guy in a gun shop tell me once that he had a friend who put up bales of straw at one end of his living room and used that as a shooting range. I thought it was crazy for a number of reasons (sound / neighbors, straw isn’t a great backstop, etc), but he swore it was true. YMMV
and the big deal about this is WHAT? There are 100s if not 1000s of these across the country. It looks like it is about bb gun size
Well known author and columnist Kurt Schlichter uses Fontana and people from the town in his book Militant Normals.
I STRONGLY recommend that book
How was it ventilated?
