On Feb. 6, 1971, Apollo 14 astronaut Al Shepard became the first person to hit a golf ball on the moon.
Though he was there doing scientific research, the impromptu one-man game of golf was really just for fun -- and it was on live television.
Shepard made a makeshift golf club with a six-iron head that he smuggled from Earth, and he attached it to the handle of a lunar excavation tool.
Shepard brought two golf balls to hit. Because his spacesuit wasn't very flexible, he could only swing with one hand.
One of the balls went into a nearby crater, and he claimed that the other flew for "miles and miles and miles."

Lol! Nice shot!
In the hole! IN THE HOLE!
So Fake, besides how did he expect it to go into the hole? you are supposed to aim at the flag
(unless he thought he could hit it well enough that it orbited the moon and then dropped into the hole)
Na-na-na-na-na....
I remember watching that live. He wanted to bring a golf club but NASA wouldn’t let him because of weight limitations.
One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. NASA couldn’t have bought publicity that good. Good thing the grinches didn’t prevail.
But the longest golf shot was 05FEB 2000 when colonel Jack O’Neill drove a golf ball through the stargate.
Bump
“Better than most!”
