I remember seeing this movie back in the 70's when I was a young kid and feeling uncomfortable about it all.
The forces of darkness have been working at it for a long time.

Boys have played with dolls, only they’re called action figures. G.I. Joe etc
Wikipedia: “William’s Doll also became a 14-minute film in 1981. The 1981 film starred Craig Salles as William and was shot in Graceada Park in Modesto, California. In 2010, the producers of RiffTrax, formerly Mystery Science Theater 3000, released William’s Doll. This was their “riff” of the aforementioned short. “
Marlo Thomas is quoted in Wikipedia saying people were afraid the film “would turn every boy into a homosexual which isn’t such a bad idea”.
Well eventually that would eliminate humans if every boy became homosexual.
I gave up watching those crappy high movies after they showed us “Signal 30” and “Prom Night”.
“...It fell on my ears as a ludicrous scheme,...”
Not so ludicrous now, it would seem...

They were serious.
When someone tells you they’re going to do something to you, believe them. They mean it.
That was also my reaction to GI Joe.
I went to a Catholic school, so, no.
Thanks for posting that.
“Its a video of a boy who wants a doll. Everyone makes fun of him. Finally his grandma gets him a doll for his birthday.”
“It is a G.I. Joe, and it’s not a doll, it’s an action figure.” Boy, they were crafty. Even when we had Joe banging Barbie we were being set up. We all knew Joe was a man and Ken was a swish. Still, playing with them got us to start sitting quietly at home instead of out terrorizing the neighborhood.
Interesting that that is by Kate Millet’s younger sister.
I remember being uncomfortable watching Quantum Leap. The first time or two Sam (Scott Bakula) “leaped” into the place of a woman in the past it was cute. But after a few times it was more than uncomfortable.
Bill Clinton was hailed as a hero by the Left and media, but I repeat myself, for everything he did. Even for taking a crap.
Well.. I do remember the song ‘Lola’ being blasted in my high school lunchroom during the early 70’s.
Back when people were sane, wed have thought it strange if parents let their son play with dolls
I still remember when the news was full of “ Christine Jorgensen” stories back then.
I also remember how Thalidimide was used as an excuse to push abortion.
To push an evil law the news media will always try to manipulate our emotions with weeping and wailing stories of such things, and how we need to make it “right”, without looking into the”unintended consequences” of such laws.
ABSOLUTELY!
I remember Billy wants a doll, a doll, a doll....very much!
I remember many of the shorts they showed us then. This didnt gain much traction, despite whiny Alan Aldas pushiness. But I still remember the catchy chant.
Look. I have no huge problem with it. No one ever makes fun of girls for being like boys. But its of more concern because of what it means in the long term.
So what happened?
Thank GOD I graduated in 66. All you got was the biology part in gender separated classes.
So what happened?
