So, it’ll be like a giant Dryer Exhaust Tube under water?...................
Heavy traffic, mid-tunnel in a vehicle borne IED. Boom.
At least in Norway.
Nope.
Water skiers can really be a drag.
You made me go look because I thought that too. lol
Apparently it’s a real thing and correct.

What they need to do is shape the tunnel into a wing, then when the tide comes in and out the wing (tunnel) came flap up and down producing electricity. 1st Green tunnel!
The critique I received after my very first attempt at water skiing was "You're supposed to let go of the rope if you fall."
“....elasticity of a wet noodle.”
That would be quite a ride inside the tunnel as the ocean waves whip the tunnel around. Ships go to the bottom all the time. The ‘tunnel’ is mostly there.
Inside of a cargo ship as it contorts in a storm

I gotta pedestrian bridge for ya, cheap!
Why?
flap up and down producing electricity. 1st Green tunnel!
The main tube made of piezo crystals wrapped in a waterproof membrane and a couple of honking large extension cords at each end!!!
Tide flows in/ out, load changes with the traffic, moon phase...Free electricity!
Norway could sell all their unneeded smart electric meters to California.
Since electricity in Europe is 50 HZ, the tunnel would only need to move at a 50 HZ cycle and not the 60 Hz required for the USA!
It occurs to me that massive anchors are not worth much when it’s limp as a noodle. Just sayin.
Europe is 50 Hz
Long ago I knew a guy from a 50 Hz district back in the fields of Indiana.
He claimed you could see the lights flicker?
The frequency would be dependent on the length of the free span; easy to adjust.
Yep, the Droop Coefficient would be in effect according to the square of the length.
