Same here... And if it gets sticky here I have another 10 acres with everything needed for the clan on top of a mountain surrounded with cliffs waiting.
10/22 carbine with folding stock and a thousandish rounds, 3 literally of water, 5 MREs, parachute line, machete, large Bowie knife, small pen knife, signalling mirror, flare pistol with 4 rounds, and a good sharp hook blade and fillet knife for skinning. Think that’s pretty much what I got
3 liters. God I hate autocorrect
As olde as I'm getting, what I can't hit from my window is safe :)
Good grief! Get powdered water!
Anyway, your water-purf tool/method should be relied over carrying too much water, unless you live in the desert. Weapons should be primary, whether blades or guns, followed by fire and food. Living in snow, you already have water, everywhere!
Don’t know if I was part of a purge or not; don’t really care. I’ve been booted from this site a couple times over the years because I don’t tow the FR line on everything the site believes in. No biggie; I think for myself. I’ll still donate here and there to the site as it is far better than the crap that is facebook and twitter; etc..
Lighter overall, more accurate and better range.
Ammo, Jack Daniels, cheetos, Jack Daniels, toilet paper, Jack Daniels, sweet tarts, Jack Daniels.
I think you forgot the water.
The comms piece I am completely lost on; have to admit it out in the open. I am not certain what I should be looking for. For instance, my wife works approx 5 miles from me as the crow flies. What should I look into so she and I can have something in a pinch/emergency that I can assure her I am getting to her and we are getting home? What can we store in our cars/bags? (and what would have the best battery life?)
As to the purifier, I have stop gap measures to get us home including the water straws. At home, we have well water on a hand pump in case electric is out.
Thanks for the post...More for me to think about and act on.

We should have a reunion of members who were @ the DC March for Justice? in 1998 :)

Hand to God; best post so far. Going upstairs to grab 2 rolls for the bag. I know the MRE kits have the “one crap” kits; didn’t even think about that. LOL
Thanks!
And it is the last refuge of someone too intellectually deficient to make an argument. You can always tell the real not so bright typesthey are the ones who point out how long someone has been on the siteas if that was relevant to the discussion. And with the constant change of screen names, passwords and the like it is likely that a JOINED date is inaccurate as well!
Your home?
The only thing I have going for me is that I live atop of a hill (so to speak). I have some pretty good vantage points as do my neighbors. We actually live in the inner circle of the outside threats if hordes came.
I would have to leave my abode to help the neighbors on the perimeter; it is what it is. They fall, I fall.
BWAAHaHaHa. Almost worthy of A+Bert, but I doubt you’ll keep it up for long. Remember Inspector Harry Callahan snd sinkspur going at it?
I have a few but the one in the vehicle is an alcohol stove made from a can with a windscreen made from 16 oz empty beer cans.
Works fine and is superlight.
The ones that use the solid fuel tabs are fine too and you can use the tabs as fire starters when everything is wet.
I don’t have any plans to fight off hordes of zombie like people. There just are not that many in this area. My Grandchildren live too far away to worry about.
If a determined group of scum want to get me they probably will, Not that I wouldn’t put up a fight.
I have access to water and enough fruit trees to help out. I keep buying Mountain House meals but they are so good that I wind up eating them. Still I do have rice, beans, flour grits spam, etc. to last a long time.
I could survive Winter fairly well but Summer would be uncomfortable.
It seems reasonable that a poster would be skeptical about a 2018’er who suddenly wants to know who has a bug-out bag.
Just sayin’.
