Twitter deliberately spreads disinformation on a worldwide scale. It employs manipulative algorithms to suppress opposing views. It decides what stories are important - whether it's a child smiling at an Indian, or a baby-voiced headcase claiming she was almost raped at an imaginary party 40 years ago. It has unprecedented power over the media and which stories are covered.
Why does Trump use a service that is so destructive and so biased against the right? If he left twitter for another service, twitter would lose a lot of its power and influence.
What are YOU talking about? You're just here to promote Gab, and that's all you're here to do.
The thread was begun by the poster asking why Trump does not post on Gab. Guys posting “Gas the K!kes!” memes in response to him is why he will never post on Gab.
Is this really a mystery to you, or are you just being cute, or playing dumb?
Would you like me to start posting Gab-approved Nazi garbage, including Zyklon-B memes, if you need convincing? How about their borderline legal hand-drawn kiddie rape porn?

That is not permitted on the site. I recall users complaining on twitter that they were banned for posting that sort of material on gab. They argued that gab wasn't really supportive of free speech for suspending them. The head of gab replied by saying any pornographic representation of a child is illegal in many states, so it is not permitted on their site. Twitter and facebook have also had problems with perverts posting disgusting things like that. If you see it, report it.
I don’t have a solution, but I do think Trump switching to a different platform would take away a lot of its influence. Twitter was losing a lot of its relevance before the last presidential election. Trump made it bigger than ever.
Do you seriously want to see what was up on Gab for months and months at a time? It’s saved. I’m sure it won’t be allowed on FR.
“Child porn” is clearly illegal when it’s photos of actual children.
Hand-illustrated high-def “cartoon” kiddie porn was permitted on Gab. After Pittsburgh, they have some new rules. But the same “100% free speech” outlook (to save $$ on moderators) allowed “virtual” (legal???) kiddie porn to flourish there.
The “block” function only hid the cancer, and allowed it to grow and flourish unseen by most (probably like you.)
If you still don’t believe me, I can start posting examples for your education.
A few years ago, a guy was put on trial for having child pornography. What they had was a ‘journal’ of fictitious sex he wrote for his own amusement and no one else had ever seen. I don’t remember how the trial ended.
I think Trump should choose any service other than the leftist brainwashing platform that is twitter. Heck, he could revive Myspace if he wants to.
If a bunch of idiots want to call Trump names for not being racist or anti-Semitic, I don’t think that would make him look bad. If anything, it would make him look better when people see that bigots hate him.
Gab's problem isn't that they allow Nazis to post there, it's that pretty much only Nazis are posting there.
I've stopped by a few times and it was nothing but Nazis posting "Le Happy Merchant" cartoons (examples of which Travis McGee posted on this thread).
When Laura Loomer was banned from Twitter, she headed over to Gab where her posts were immediately inundated with Jew hate. No thanks.
Oddly enough, I follow Gab on Twitter where they are fairly active.
The conversation was specifically about drawings, not actual children. They ban users for it. If it’s not reported, they can’t suspend the account.
Honestly, you made your position clear. You hate gab. That’s fine. My interest isn’t in helping gab, it’s in reducing the unprecedented control twitter has over the media. I believe Trump using a different service would assist in accomplishing that.

True. I think the whole internet was much more dedicated to free speech circa 2013, but then, like the universities that were once dedicated to free inquiry, free speech, and the press, who were once dedicated to impartiality, etc., etc., the internet corporate structure has been largely taken over by authoritarian leftists who have as their stated goal to eliminate other perspectives.
That third one reminds me of how Big Media portrays gun owners and pro-life people.

If the president used Gab, his staff would have to waste time filtering through and blocking all the filth there.
Also, come to think of it, if Trump stopped using Twitter and started using Gab as an alternative, Twitter users still could just copy his Gab messages to share on Twitter. With a Twitter account, at least he has control over what he himself posts there.
So, he's smart to use whatever platform is most popular because that's where whatever he says will be shared, anyway.
