I know the Russians do not bluff or mess around. Yet this was too aggressive move by the Su-27 pilot on a NATO F-15 pilot.
If the Russians want to play hardball, then we should oblige them.

What, by downing their fighter over the Baltic?
That was a ballsy move.
Maverick would be proud.
If the F-15 pilot was out to kill the Su-27 pilot would never know what killed him
No one even asks where this happened:
It was near the Black Sea or Ukraine, right...?
Who wants to die for the Ukraine...? Not me.
What if the Ruskies were flying around right off of Tijuana:
Would we like it..?
The Russians better be prepared for some serious retaliation. Some NATO General is going to release a statement and call them unprofessional. That’s really going to sting
“What if the Ruskies were flying around right off of Tijuana:”
A closer analogy is if Texas were separated from the US and Warsaw Pact forces were deploying there, and there was serious consideration given to Texas joining the Pact.
There are a million Russian buried in Ukraine.
They would fight an existential nuclear war to keep it.
Does anybody know where this was, what the airliner being escorted was? It would be very interesting to know the circumstance here.
Was that some kind of VIP transport?
This definately merits LOTS of US diplomatic capital:
I mean, it’s not like 2,000 illegals invade America EVERY NIGHT, right..?
What’s more, it has been at least a whole WEEK in my town since the Coast Guard has had local dive shops collect cans of food for them, right..?
Buzzing around Ukraine —whose products we all use and where we have all visited numerous times— is certainly a HIGH priority..!
Screw the border, let’s fight a nuclear war..!
For UKRAINE.
“...There are a million Russian buried in Ukraine.....”
True!
Historically there has never really be an independent Ukraine. Both Russia & Ukraine claim the Kingdom of Rus as their origin. Ukraine does have a different (slightly) different language & culture. I don’t know how you would measure this but the differences in language & culture don’t seem to be as nearly great as the differences between Spain & Portugal. However Portugal has a long history of being independent.
There was a Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth that existed and controlled the area but it was not Ukrainian. Ukraine seems to have existed primarily as a buffer region between Poland, the Baltic States, Moscow and the Ottomans. A unique culture & outlook developed but not necessarily a state. I would like to see Ukraine succeed & proposer as a separate nation but I doubt it will happen.
I think when it relied on USA & UK guarantees of sovereignty and gave up nuclear weapons it sealed its fate as a separate nation!
The most unrealistic aspect of that scene is that lots of FOD is not raining down to the canopy.

...The incident, which was captured on video, occurred in June 2017, when NATO aircraft wanted to escort a jetliner of the Russian government on its way to Kaliningrad...
Harassing an airliner headed to Kaliningrad? No wonder they had fighters chase him back to a safe distance. Was it just a civil airliner?
That was a Russian government plane, used on their Presidential and government detail. We would do the same if foreign fighter jets without permission decided to “escort” Air Force one.
Don’t cloud the issue with facts, common sense and logic when it is so much fun to watch all the FR knees jerk.
From the visible livery it looks like ‘Rossiya’ airline which is a company providing charters for the government. They operate their version of AF1 too. Although their AF1 are actually four identical planes.
