That would make sense as a strategy. There are 3 caravans headed for the border now; hard to imagine stability with a CIA stronghold(s) at our border, sending repeated waves of “caravans” while importing ISIS jihadis and training foreign troops. Hard to stop that kind of activity while working from our side of the border.
I’ve heard for some time the CIA and foreign interests have supplied the region with munitions and fighters. I can conceive of a scenario wherein the CIA/Cartels keep the borders open by using heavier, military grade “tools” (explosives or other) to break sections of the wall, the Dems would go nuts talking about the “pointless waste of funds to build an ineffective, inhuman wall.” Our troops could work to protect a wall initially under construction (now) but with cartels/CIA there, why invest money and political capital building a wall that will be continuously damaged once significant numbers of our troops are redeployed?
I am aware of a family of illegals being deported; both parents were brought to the US as very young children. When they were being deported (recently), Mexican “rules” dictated that they return to the state in which they were born - the poorest region in Mexico.
An economic analysis of that region determined that the parents, in their mid 30’s, were “too old” to work there. In that region, only just-marrieds starting a family can work because there aren’t enough jobs. The family hadn’t grown up in the region, didn’t speak the language well and didn’t have any surviving family members or family friends there. Both children would not have access to needed medications (one was asthmatic) and based on statistics, his 13 year old daughter would almost certainly be raped, as the area was lawless and predatory.
Mexico COULD have benefited from the return of an educated couple, could have put them to work in schools, gov or in the metropolitan areas. But Mexico is just another type of “farm” like North Korea. They break their people by design. They create life-threatening desperation on purpose.
I’ve read about the abundance of natural resources which indicate that Mexico COULD be wealthy, and it’s people happy to remain at home. But instead, the cabal uses Cartels to treat their citizens like farm animals, driving them north with economic pressure and lawlessness, punishing them if they return. Harvesting them on both sides of the border, even delivering them as “take-out” to border states via coyotes.
My church does missions in Mexico. They always return humbled by the grinding poverty and the good people struggling to live there - no one wants innocent people to suffer. As the US rises out of the depths of gloom into becoming great again, we’d love to see it happen in MX, too.
The US would welcome a prosperous, stable Mexico. The alternative is something like a DMZ and constant threat at the Rio Grande. I hope that’s the plan - I imagine the Dems would lose some of their Hispanic voters....
