Your new iPhone X🅂

$1,449.00

FALSE!

The iPhone XS starts at $999, not $1449. You don’t even get that price by maxing out all options. . . Then it’s $1349. source Apple.com

WordStar! Learned those commands on a CPM machine before MS-DOS even came out.

The lack of a headphone jack became less of an issue when I started working from home just about all the time, so I was OK upgrading to a 7. I can play music on a bluetooth speaker while the phone charges. But if I had to go into the office, it would be an issue with the somewhat limited battery life. I did buy a non-supported splitter for such days.

I prefer opening the phone with a thumbprint rather than facial recognition.

Innovation is still happening at Apple. I’ve seen some interesting projects, but Apple has become “We got this potentially great product, now what do we do?”

I have also seen some fantastic updates to hardware products but those have yet to see the light of day - for some mysterious reason.

The iPhone “slump” was foreseeable and yet, they act as if they are surprised. Their reliance upon the iphone as the cash cow is management’s fault.

Can services make up the gap? Payments will be the key..specifically Apple Pay. Their music streaming service is decent but not great and I hate paying for such a subscription - so don’t.

My iphone has not been upgraded since September 2015. I have become more reliant on my Android and that written, good/great Android phones such as the Pixel are just a notch less in price than an iPhone.

That’s what I have. The Samsung Galaxy J7. Unlocked. I pay Consumer Cellular $30 a month for unlimited minutes and texts with 1 gig of internet. And I own it free and clear.

Not paying $1,500 a month. Just bought a new HP laptop for 1/2 of that.

Yup. Old enough to have used WordStar and VisiCalc.

Maybe if they included a free pack of Gillette razors with every purchase?

Phones have hit a wall. They can improve cameras but not much more. The future of tech is in virtual reality. VR is at the 286 processor stage (early PC) or (pre-iPhone stage if we are talking about phone development). VR is not just about games. We are talking major teaching and development tools here. Apple hasn’t even broken VR ground.

Same here I am quite happy with my 7 and an not interested in paying even $500 for an iPhone. I got mine from Verizon for $240 spread over 2 years. I had kept my Motorola Droid II for going on 4 years and gave it to my son. iPhones are overpriced and just not worth the premium prices they are demanding.

What you may be and is probably true but Cook, like many vainglorious types, has chosen to use his position to politick rather than lead.

Apple goes pro homo big time and spends billions on a saucer building.

I can see why they are selling them for just under 1500 a pop.

Yeah - I have a “low-end” Samsung that cost $365 or so - my home desktop (with screen) cost $540
